“OMG the food is to die for!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2012

Toted as an Italian restaurant, Luv N Oven is so much more. Yes they have pastas, but the seafood... Words cannot describe how great it is, and the price is beyond reasonable. In fact, I would venture to say they just don't charge enough. The owner speaks good English and a lot of Expats eat there. I hope they don't see my review and bump up the prices because there is just no comparison on the Malecon.

We ate many meals there and tried dishes of others we did not order. They toute a Filet Mignon on the menu covered in a mushroom sauce that is a wonderful meal. One night the steak was tough and they did take it back and make a whole new one, apologizing that the cook must have been sold the wrong cut of meat. They made it right! Now, mind you, this filet cut is not the tiny serving you would get in the states. It's about 4" x 6" x 2" and with the sauce and the trimmings it was only... are you ready... $8.80 tax included! No joke!

“nice suprise”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 26, 2012

Except for the great food the Luv N Oven might be any one of the many Malecon restaurants featuring plastic lawn chairs and kitchens the size of a closet.
$5.00 Arroz con Pollo- not you typical saffron rice but a delicious homemade spiced rice with chicken.
$8.00 A real Filet Mignon in a mushroom sauce. Good beef (any beef for that matter) not easy to find in average Ecuadorian restaurants.
Maybe its the serendipitous name but Luv N Oven attracts locals and Ex-pats alike. Definitely reccommended, enjoy.

“Good food at reasonable prices....”

Directly on the Malecon, this spot is a favourite of expats and locals. Food is very good and the cook will substitute as requested. Batidas are yummy too!

You would think it by looking at the place but the Luv N Oven is one of the better eateries in Salinas. In my opinion food, service and price was top notch!

“Not my cup of tea!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 16, 2012

We were advised to visit this restaurant so expected it to be nice. I had seco de pollo and it was not up to the standard of other places I had it in Ecuador. The chicken was a grey-blue colour and really off-putting, I couldn't stomach more than one bite. I just ate the rice which was ok but nothing special. The staff were very helpful and double-checked our order but I was really not impressed with the food. Conversely, my boyfriend and friend had different food to me and enjoyed it enough to want to go back but I really did not see the appeal!
