“Galapagos Vacation”
Reviewed March 24, 2014

Our family spent 4 days at this beautiful resort. Carlos and his staff were very good. The rooms were clean. They were very accommodating and made special arrangements to make sure we saw the highlights of these beautiful islands. Our guide was Mario and he made our day tours spectacular. His humor and knowledge made our days both enjoyable and entertaining. Thanks Mario for the great trip

The effort and kindness of the staff and guides was extraordinary. The guides, Marco and Valentino were very knowledgeable and drew our kids in as we walked the islands. They were enthusiastic stewards to the islands and animals.

After dinner, when we thought to tack on fishing trip to the end of the next day's boat tour - no problem! Carlos was on the phone and soon had options at two price point. We went w the less expensive option and had a blast, creating another highlight to our already fabulous trip to the Galapagos with Finch Bay Eco Hotel

We stayed 4 nights at the Finch Bay Hotel and it was amazing. The food, the tours and the service were top notch. Carlos is exceptional, his service and smile make you feel so special. He is ready to help with anything and everything. We can't say enough good things about him, he made our stay a 5 star.

My wife and I stayed at Finch Bay for the first leg of our trip to the Galapagos. The accommodations were incredible. Our ocean view room was in a spectacular spot and the hammock on the balcony was a nice touch. The staff was wonderful. Our package included dinner with a pre-fixed menu, but much of the food was seafood, which my wife and I do not like. The staff was very helpful and allowed us to substitute dishes at no extra cost. The excursions through Metropolitan Touring were unforgettable. We saw amazing sights and met some wonderful people. We also needed some extra help when we transferred over to Isabella island but had to leave some of our luggage behind. The staff made it a painless experience and we were quickly reunited with our bags when we left the Galapagos. If you're traveling to Santa Cruz, this is the place to stay.

Room Tip: We upgraded to the ocean view because it was our honeymoon, but from what I saw all of the rooms wer...

Finch Bay is run by Metropolitan Touring, one of the premier travel agencies in South America … especially in Ecuador/Galápagos. Like some other reviewer, came here to stay for a few days following a cruise on one of their boats (La Pinta), so expectations were high .. and were not only met, but exceeded. Transfer from boat-to-airport-to-bus-ferry-private transport-harbor-water tai-hotel was (as mentioned by some other reviewers) seamlessly managed. You can't actually walk to this hotel from "downtown" Puerto Ayora, because it is separated form the town by a piece of bop-go national park land. So the hotel has its own private, free water taxi, which somehow seems always available, to take you to a dock on the other side of the harbor that it shares with another hotel, a public beach, and some residences. The physical grounds of the hotel are beautiful … nicely landscaped using indigenous plants, and including lovely indoor-outdoor dining, a pool, and lounge area. Although there is a public beach right outside the gates, there was no noise, and no issue with the very nice local people coming and going. Food in the restaurant was EXCELLENT, and service was superb. My room was very nicely designed/appointed, with comfortable bed, quite, efficient air-conditioning, and ample, spotless bathroom. Service from beginning to end of sty was impeccable. It is a bit pricey … and so is everything in Galápagos, but at least in this place, you get what you pay for in the most positive sense possible. Highly recommended. The trail from the doc to the hotel even passed through a sandy spot near some mangroves where marine iguanas were digging their nests during my visit!

Room Tip: My room had no "view" … and I didn't care a bit … because I spent little time in it co...

We stayed 3 nights at the end of a cruise on the Xpedition ship which set our expectations very high for service. Our personal transfer driver from the hotel waited or us at the airport in Baltra as we returned from the ship. He had our bags ready to go. Completely seamless and stress free which is how the next three days progressed.

When the manager introduced himself and said nothing would be too much trouble I reflected on the transfer and thought maybe we have struck gold here. As a maturing honeymoon couple we hoped for first class treatment and I wondered if we were getting special treatment but I noticed that the staff were wonderful with all the guests.

Having done so much sightseeing from the cruise we spent most of our days lazing by the pool. We did take a short stroll down to the nearby lava fault/ ravine where one can swim in the briney water. There is a private water taxi to take you into town where a visit to the fish market is a must. The pelicans and sea lions there make is very worthwhile. Just the other side of town is the tortoise sanctuary/ breeding programme.

On our last night the manager set us out a private dining area near the beach and a special menu to celebrate the last night of our trip. The staff had to walk backwards and forwards all evening just to serve us. This sort of treatment doesnt happen everywhere.

The hotel room was lovely, we had Ocean View room 2. We could see marine iguana, herons, pelicans, frigate birds and sea lions in the morning from the room. Less during the day when people go on the beach and then swim. The double shower in the room was great and the beds comfortable. The whole place was spotless.

This is a small hotel with limited but impeccable facilities making the most of what they have.

I spent two nights at Finch Bay Hotel on September, my trip was only for business, but the time I spent at the hotel was absolutely perfect. I can start talking about the food, I had a fabulous dinner, taking care of every flavor in each plate, a delicious buffet breakfast was waiting for me at the restaurant on mornings, birds were flying around there, standing on the chairs.

The rooms are so comfortable and clean, also they care about environment with all the advices they gave you like save the water, hang up the towels if they are clean...

If you need a escape, a relax time, this place is perfect, because the hotel is so quiet and calm.

you have a small beach just in front of the hotel, and the cracks are very close, only 15 minutes far.

all service people are gentile, worry about yoi need to make your stay a unforgettable experience!!...

I´ll be back soon, I hope not for business, but for sure I´ll stay at Finch Bay.
