The walk was the best part but Las Grietas was very anticlimatic. There were teens every where playing lame techno music from their phones. The swimming hole is small and it's nothing special.

Las Grietas was not what I expected since it was a bunch of lava rocks and a small body of water. The water was really salty, but had some fish in there. To get to Las Grietas, take a water taxi and walk along the paved and sandy trail. Afterwards, you'll see a sign for Las Grietas and take the stairs down to the area.

Recommendations:
- Bring sturdy walking shoes because the lava rocks are really sharp and slippery.
- Hang out at the beach nearby the hotels since you can at least eat and lie down on the sand.

I didn't find this place to be all that great. Just not worth the time or the hike when there are so many better things to do

If you have only a limited time in the Galapagos, skip this tour and find something more exciting to do! It really is basically just a hole in the ground. The swimming was lovely and cool to be in the structure, but in hindsight, I'd have rather gone to do something else. You CAN snorkel but there really is nothing to see... I saw four individual fish.
Also, you do NOT need a Park sanctioned guide to visit this site so spend your money going somewhere you need a guide.

Visit Las Grietas for a nice dip in fresh cool water amid jutting rocks and crystal clear views. Not one to be missed if you are visited Santa Cruz Island
