“Part of the Bay Tour”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

The recommendable Bay Tour includes at the end the rather long walk to the Grietas. Not difficult, but you have to watch every step over the lava rocks. Nice view of this water canyon, but when we arrived the place was overcrowded, hard to find a spot. But spectacular some youths jumping into the water from the 10 meter rim, very courageous! If you don't feel walking stay at the bar at the beginning of the walk on the rim of the salt lake.

“Nice swim reward after moonwalk”
Reviewed February 12, 2013

The path to Las Grietas starts at The Finch Bay, is all over vilcanic rocks with some salt fields in the way. It is nor walking nor climbing, you have to pay attention to every step as you will have to fix a small part of your foot againsta rock salience, and get the balance for the next step without breaking your ankle. The landscape sometime looks like the moon... the walk is not strenous but can be umcomfortable under sunlight.

At the end, a small canal compressed between two tall rock walls, still waters of a beautiful and distinctive green. The water is cold but revigorating, and a skin is not needed for sure. I dod ot do the jump-off-the-cliff thing, swimming in these waters was enough of a reward for me.

“Not sure what all the fuss is about”
Reviewed February 4, 2013

A tiny, crowded swimming hole that is a boat ride and a fairly arduous walk from the main town. There are a few small fish but nothing worth getting your snorkel wet for. I wouldn't bother again.

“Long Dry Walk and Fun Adventure”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

It was a long, dry, hot walk but well worth it. The walk takes about 20-25 minutes from the Dock past the salt lake and is quite an adventure due to the large lava boulders that you have to jump around and on. The view at the end is worth the trek with the clear water and huge boulders. Please take the advise of not wearing flip flops and bring plenty of water!

“Bring your swim suit”
Reviewed January 14, 2013

I took a water taxi and hiked over there. Bring good shoes. I would never wear flip flops on that terrain. Lots of cliff jumping, snorkeling and great people watching. Small little sitting area so gives you a chance to meet other travelers.
