“Good Food, Beautiful Patio”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 3, 2012

I ate here several times while on Santa Cruz; the service was friendly, the food was good, and the setting pleasant. I love the leisurely pace of dining in Galapagos; it's reminiscent of a good day in France.

“Good Grilled Seafood”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2012

My wife and I ate here the first night. Grilled seafood is very popular at the local restaurants. We enjoyed our dinner here, but ultimately preferred Isla Grill and Red Mangrove.

“One of my favorite meals”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 28, 2012

One of my favorite meals in the Galapagos was at La Garrpata, I had the sesame encrusted tuna with fresh avocado and it was delicous! The restaurant itself is a fun place, the floor is gravel and the waitstaff is friendly!

“Nice location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2012

We visited this restaurant twice, once for a set lunch which was entirely edible, if fairly simple, and once for dinner. The latter was more pleasant and we enjoyed the steak, prawns with coconut and passionfruit and in particular the tuna in teriyaki sauce - a real hit with our daughter.

“Excellent Food, Good Service, and Decent Value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 24, 2012

We came here three times over a two week period (there aren't too many really good options in Puerto Ayora), twice we had dinner and once we had lunch.

The food was consistently excellent, and we tried a variety of fish dishes and salads. The fish was always fresh and cooked well. The salads were very good as well with good ingredients and flavors. (Beware though that everywhere in Puerto Ayora had unripe produce which is a symptom of bringing it in from the mainland and this is not a demerit on this restaurant).

THe service was always prompt but the cooking can take awhile, as we found out when 5 of us ordered grilled fish and found out that the grill isn't quite big enough to handle large orders. As we had plenty of time that evening it turned out ok as we grabbed another beer.

The price is a good value compared to other places on Charles Darwin Avenue, but as mentioned in other reviews it is not as cheap as some of the "local" options.

The outside seating is nice but the view is just ok as you do look out on Charles Darwin Avenue.
