I will start by saying that this was the worst place I have EVER stayed. My friends and I had 3 rooms booked well in advance, and PAID FOR in advance.
When we arrived there was a guy at the front desk who couldn't have been older than 16. He was not expecting us, and had no record of our reservation (even though we'd PAID for it alreaady!!) He had us sign our names in what I can only assume was his school notebook and then took us to some rooms. Even though we booked together our rooms were as far apart as possible.
I'll start with the hammocks and hanging chairs that they adversise...let me tell you they are falling apart and stink of mold...oh and the discolouring ...visible mold. Not very relaxing.
My room was small, smelled damp and moldy, there was hair on the floor of the shower and HOLES in the faceclothes in my bathroom. There was visible mold on most of the walls and the sink and the shower. The mirror in the bathroom was peeling. The power outlets barely worked. (One out of 4 worked). At night, I INSPECTED my bed before getting in and slept fully clothed from head to toe.
It got worse. In the morning, I went to shower and the water was FREEZING. There was NO HOT WATER no matter how long you let it run. My friends had the same experience in BOTH their rooms. To add to this, my friend's bathroom was so small that you had to take 2 stairs to get down into it and your knees touched the wall when you sat down on the toilet.
At breakfast (if you can call it that) my friends told me about their middle of the night experience with a cockroach!! It woke them up flying around in their room!! We could not get out of here fast enough.
Unfortunately we had pre-paid for a 2nd night at the end of our cruise as well. When we brought up our previous problems to the front desk, they assured us they could fix them. They did manage to turn on the hot water (sort of) apparently you need to ASK for it to be turned on in your room...(like they didn't know they had guests there???) They then asked us to leave for a few hours so they could "fumigate" the rooms due to our cockroach concerns (which we had to practically force them to do) and when we got back it smelled like they basically sprayed bug spray in our rooms.
In the morning, my other friends told us about their cockroach experience. They took a picture to show the front desk, since they didn't believe us the first time.
On top of this, the "common" area is attached to some of the rooms...doesn't seem very 'common'...but if you go in there, you will find old records but no record player, a water cooler with no water or cups and not even plugged in...and if you're lucky, like we were, you will find dirty bloody kleenex type things on the couches. EWWW.
There was even more, but I think you've read enough.
I could not wait to leave. NEVER stay here.
