I booked this for my parent's trip to Galapagos because I would be working and wanted a place with a good location. My parents are in their 70's and speak no Spanish. The staff was amazing to them. Their suggestions for activities were exactly what my folks wanted. The rooms were clean and modern. The location is steps from the center of town, restaurants, and shopping. They even re-opened for breakfast for us because we all overslept the first morning.

We stayed in over 50 hotels and guesthouses over the past year. Ninfa rates last in our experiences. The staff is unfriendly to downright nasty, excluding the dining room staff, who are very nice. The rooms are moldy (we had 4 rooms, each of which suffered from mildew stench and visible mold). There is construction going on, so things are noisy as well. For a much cheaper hotel with cleaner rooms and friendlier staff (but no food or pool) try the better located Sir Francis Drake.

Great location. Looks nice with courtyard, pool, pool table. Free breakfast daily and the food workers were very cordial. Check out your room beforehand. Smallest bathroom ever and felt like crackden. People were helpful though.

Was on a business trip in October 2012 and stayed in the newer portion of the hotel, which they called a suite. The nightly rate was about $ 135 + tax. The room was on the second floor, no elevator. It had rained slightly so the steps up were very wet and a little slippery. Had to carry my suitcase up the two flights of stairs. The room was very clean and modern looking. Two queen beds, white tile floors, newly tiled bathroom with glass doors, hot water & clean towels, A/C, large closet and a small balcony facing the pool in the center of the property. Flat screen TV and a phone in the room. If you open the front door and the balcony door, you get a great cross breeze. Hotel is walking distance to the pier area where most of the restaurants and shops are.

Room Tip: Try and stay in the modern part of the hotel, not the older rooms. Worth the hike up the stairs.

The pool was nice and the food was extremely mediocre -- unless you are fond of small, moldy smelling rooms in the old section (where they automatically place you if you're with a tour) or love the smell of raid that accompanies the upgrade to the "suites" even though it is a much nicer room, you might want to stay somewhere else.
