The entire archipelago is amazing. You need to stay at least 7 days to see half of the islands. Usually the Kicker Rock is the first one, so you got really impressed. Nice place for photography, snorkeling and diving.

I did two amazing dives with the very well-run Chalo tours outfit (the office is easily found in the town). The divemaster was knowledgeable and billingual and the boat we took was a large catamaran so perfect for preparing equipment on.

The first dive was in a mild current that took you along a nice channel with turtles, white tip/black tip sharks and a galapagos shark. We saw a hammerhead from a distance but not up close.

The second dive there was almost no current and visibility was excellent. We dropped in close to a huge shoal of fish (literally thousands there) which are always there apparently and then came up underneath them to watch a sea lion dive for food and watch a few turtles swim around. We then slowly ascended through the shoal of fish which was a great experience.

Another group had seen a whale shark two days earlier, very jealous!

My girlfriend also went on a snorkelling tour off the same boat and this was guided with wetsuits and flippers provided. They saw much the same wildlife and even a few more rays than I did!

Overall an amazing first diving expedition on the islands and one that I´ll never forget. The company also filmed it all with a GoPro which I copied off them for some great HD footage.

Safest, coolest dive tour operator in San Cristobal island, no doubt about it! With their fancy super comfortable catamaran, good equipment and reliable staff, Chalo Tours is the best way to get to the great Kickers Rock (one of the best dive sites in Galapagos). My only advise is to book as soon as you get to the island, because it isn´t unusual that they get full right away.

The ocean was calm and the current was manageable, even for my 12 yo son. With 40 foot visibility, we snorkeled our way through and partially around the rock to see white-tipped and hammerhead sharks, sea turtles, a school of spotted rays, lots of fish and a large sea lion sweeping by. It is hard to describe how beautiful it was. Wet suits are a must. Leaving we were followed by a pod of magnificent bottlenose and striped dolphins. Unforgettable....
