We arrived at San Cristobal without hotel reservations at 4PM to find a lot of places booked up. I sprinted around town trying to find an affordable room and was about to settle for a danky little room without windows, when I decided to make one more stop at Casa de Nelly. The reception was tucked away in the back and I actually had to ring a bell. Reception is literally at the casa of Nelly and her daughter answered. They did have a room available for 50 bucks. She let me see the room which was on the upper floor overlooking the port. Gorgeous! We'll take it!
The room shared common patio with hammocks and tables with another room, which was fine. There was a better room across from us that had a patio all to itself. I think that one may have been a family accommodation, but I can't be sure. Our room was clean and comfortable, with nice shower, AC and TV. WiFi was available in the room, but kept cutting in and out. Common area also included "kitchen" with sink, fridge, and coffee maker. Breakfast option was available for extra $5 per person which we opted for one day. I'd say go have breakfast elsewhere - there are plenty of bfast joints on the main street with better selection. The only advantage of having breakfast at the Casa is if you need it extra early.
The B&B is tucked away about 5 mins from the main street which was nice. It's located on the way to the Interpretation Center and Playa Mann. Overall we had a very pleasant stay at Casa De Nelly.
