the hotel is in a great location, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent. The dining area is outdoors with a view of the ocean.
Our room was large and quaint. I really loved staying here and recommend it to friends.

My elderly dad and I stayed here three nights. This hotel is very well located, right in the heart of San Cristobal's main tourist areas and pier. You can walk to all the stores as well as the Interpretation Center, and a couple of small beaches. The pier where the cruise ships come in is a few minute walk. Even the Airport is only a 5 min ride. The views form the breakfast area and the rooms facing the waterfront are spectacular. The breakfast was amazing.. felt like we were staying in someone's home.. served various courses and with much care. During breakfast, the finches and warblers come perch at your table (either endearing or annoying depending on your perspective). Also, sea lions sit right on the hotel's steps, providing great pic opportunities. The staff, especially Santiago was wonderful and provided us much help with our luggage and even got our boarding passes for our trip since he happened to be on the same flight to Quito. Of the three nights, we had the entire place to ourselves for two of the nights (bonus of going off peak season- don't be fooled, the place (approx 7 rooms) is often sold out). Our room was beautiful and we had two balconies. The bathroom was very large. Truly a memorable stay!!! Highly recommended!!

Room Tip: Select a room on the waterfront side. Although its more expensive (around $170 per night during the...

We stayed at this hotel as our first stop on our tour of the Galapagos Islands. The hotel manager was very helpful in contacting our tour operator since our guide failed to meet us at the airport. He was also agreeable to serving our breakfast outside normal hours when our tour left too early for the regularly scheduled breakfast included with the room.

The first night we were assigned a different room from the one we had confirmed with the tour company; the manager was unable to change the room that night, but by the following night we were able to occupy the room we had reserved.

The rooms were airy and comfortable; the beds were firm, and the rooms were clean. The view from the room was wonderful! We could see the dock in the harbor from our balcony. We could also see the multitude of sea lions that inhabited the boardwalk (especially when they reclined on the benches!). The location was wonderful, right on the boardwalk and in walking distance of many interesting restaurants. We also walked to a local beach to sun with sea lions, as well as snorkel alongside them. A bit more walking brought us to a museum, as well as a set of stairs that climb to a local viewpoint platform, and to an additional beach for snorkeling.

The only downside was that when the wind was blowing strongly in the evening, we had to open a window a crack to keep it from howling through the small gaps in the doors. Once we solved that problem, it was quiet and snug.

I would definitely recommend this hotel, and would willingly stay there again!

Room Tip: Top floor rooms have the best views.

We stayed one night Before going on a one week Galapagos Cruise.
Excellent location towards the end of the waterfront promenade. Nice staff. Rooms and beds medium quality. No elevator. Hot water only occassionally. Breakfast a bit slow but OK. WiFi functions on and off close to the Reception.

We stayed here for 3 nights and the beginning of our trip to the Galapagos. We were so happy with the location the staff and the food. Our room was on the second floor and was perfect for us. We weren't looking for anything fancy and absolutely loved the view and the hammock on our balcony. We wished we could have stayed here longer!

Room Tip: Ask for an ocean facing room on the second or third floor

We spent three nights at the Casa Opuntia Galapagos in Saint Cristobal Island before boarding the Cormorant Catamaran on our island hopping through the Galapagos archipelago. The Casa was very unique in perfect location. We were able to walk the ocean front community, the cultural center, and the hide-away beaches of the sea lions. The breakfast and dinner were excellent in view of its limitation in ingredient and clientele. What was lacking in facility was made up by the hospitality of the owner/manager of the place. If we have the opportunity to return again we definitely will book the same hotel.

We decided to book an extra night on San Cristobal at the end our cruise. The hotel had a nice location right on the edge of the main drag in town. It was very clean and a good value. We had a room on the first floor just off the main dining area and were never distrubed by any noise.

We really enjoyed San Cristobal Island as we were able to arrange for a private tour 4 hour tour of the island with a local taxi driver for only $30 (plus a generous tip because he was great). If you are staying on San Cristobal I'd reccomend this hotel for the value.
