It was a great pleasure to stay in Casa de Laura! Laura and her family was very nice and helpful! The room was clean and big with hot water, fridge, air-condition - all you need for comfortable stay. Patio in the Casa is very charming! There is wi-fi available. I would highly recommend this place to stay, but book in advance, they almost always have a people, which is also a good sign.

Laura is lovely. Greeting you with a hug. Nice and clean room, overview of town (upstairs) or very lovely garden (downstairs). Great location 1 min. from boulevard etc.
To find this lovely spot: from the boulevard to the roundabout with dolphins, 10 mts. to the LEFT (not towards the militairy centre) and you are there. Warmly recommended!

Room Tip: overview of town (upstairs) or very lovely garden (downstairs). Downstairs there are hammocks and mo...

Spent 2 nights at this lovely hotel! Rooms are clean and with hot water. Hotel is surrounded by the beautiful garden. There is wi-fi available at the reception and you can also relax at hammocks over there. There is also portable water available 24/7. There is no breakfast at the hotel, but you can go to one of the restaurants. The only thing that was not very nice, we have ants in the room, but this problem is common for every hotel in Galapagos. So, I enjoyed my stay and can recommend this place for travelers.

For a small room with a double bed, old air conditioning does not cool properly and that generated a lot of noise, old 14 inch TV with national channels only input, with power outages at night, without change of towels, "Hotel Casa de Laura " They tried to charge $ 50 a night, so we decided to go to the "Hotel Emmanuel" who offered us a double bed, air conditioning silent split and in perfect condition, plasma TV 21 inch Cable TV and half street "Malecón of San Cristobal" the "Hotel Enmanuel" charged us $ 35 USD per night. The "Hotel Emmanuel", unlike that in the "Casa de Laura", felt safe, clean towels, comfortable room and better service.

We are really sad for the way this persons commented on detriment of Casa de Laura's reputation. Since the first momment they arrived they took a look on the room and they agreed with the price (USD 40 for a matrimonial per night, as shown in my web site). Personally I supervise seriously the cleanning of the rooms every day. A/C is not modern but works perfectly. The energy blackout was not only at Casa the Laura but in the whole island and was only once and lasted 15 minutes(out of my hands). However, she stayed at Casa de Laura for 2 nights and then she left the island. She ever stayed in other place as she mencioned. When I asked if everything was fine she never told me anything so I could have done something to make their staying more confortable. To make matters worse when she left she didnt want to pay the agreed price. She was rude and disrespectful and throw USS 30 for the 2 nights on the desk. I'm a senior person and I procure to be respectful with everybody and to be respected as well.
Thanks.
Laura

Stayed here 3 days at the tail end of two weeks in Galapagos...it was a dream. Just walking to my room thru the gorgeous garden courtyard of tropical fruits and flowers was a treat. The room was sparkling clean, bright, spacious, with comfortable beds and a nice hot shower. There's free cold water for your water bottles in the common room, hammocks out front with fine Wi-Fi and charming Galapagos finches and Lava Lizards cavorting around your feet. Laura is not only very helpful with suggestions and directions to hikes, food etc but she's a very good naturalist with stories about the local critters. The hostel itself is just far enough off the main drag to avoid noise but plenty close enough to restaurants. It is also very convenient to the airport and La Loberia. Without a doubt, the best hostel I stayed in in Galapagos and a lot better than many on the mainland.

Room Tip: Seems to me they are all fine since they look over the garden courtyard and are separated from the c...

We had a great time here, and the owners helped us a ton with learning our way around. The room was clean, and the location was great. We were right downtown, near the restaurants and water. Thanks for the great memories!!
