At first glance, a very uninviting rocky beach. Just keep following the path, you'll see lots of marina iguanas on the rocks, and eventually the rocks give way to sand where you can actually swim. Large sea lion colony, when I was there it was almost entirely little pups. Absolutely adorable. Just remind yourself not to touch them! It's law and the mother may abandon them if they smell the scent of humans.

And of course, you must snorkel here. Sea lions, and LOTS and LOTS of rays! There were so many I almost got tired of looking at them. Don't worry they won't hurt you!

A must if you visit San Cristobal.

We saw plenty of lobos during our 9 days on the islands, but this place was a standout for the chance to observe the sea lions interacting, especially the moms and pups searching for each other. The experience suffers a bit from the number of human observers, but still highly recommended.

If you want to see sea lions in the wild, and not lying on the pier, this is the place to see.

We saw plenty of females and pups being guarded aggressively by an alpha male. The walk along the lava rocks was wonderful and calming.

20 minute walk or $2 taxi from town so really easy to visit. Put it on the list to visit or go more than once. Water not that warm but good snorkelling.
