The view is great, enterior and exterior are perfect. Everything you get is perfect. One of the best places I have visited in my life. In the end I must mention that prices are also on high level...

Restaurant is located in the hotel of same name. This current restaurant and hotel were built on the plot of land which the original restaurant of the same name stood. It has beautiful Seaview as it's located right next to the sea in Optija.

The original restaurant of the same name was famous throughout the old Yugoslavia from 70's and was bought over by a group of investors when the original owner was to old to continue the business.

The seafood dishes were excellent - very fresh. Had a sardine pasta - the sardines were crumbed and deep fried - really well done with the crust crispy and the meat inside still moist. Service level was good too. Overall a good place for lunch and to take in the beautiful coastline view of Optija and Rijeka.

Our dinner at Bevanda was the best of our trip, hands down. The service was very attentive and courteous, and our waiter was very knowledgeable about all the wines and the dishes. The food was excellent. The Squid Ink and Cuttlefish Risotto was delicious, the cuttlefish very flavorful, and the steak was perfect. She had oysters, then the lamb, which was served at the table from the cooking pot thing, and had apparently been farmed on one of the islands that can be seen from the restaurant, Cres. Very tasty! It wasn't cheap by any means, but this was for us a special occasion, so we were happy to splurge a bit. The place was very un-crowded, and you're literally just a few metres from the shore, and with the view across to the lights of Rieka over the bay, it was really a fantastic evening. We loved it!

You can hardly imagine a better location for a top restaurant in Opatija. Sitting at a window table a few feet above the sea you feel like being on a large yacht, a wonderful feeling spoilt by the occasional passer by right in front of your nose, thanks to Croatian laws – a path open to all public must remain between premises and the sea. The restaurant is posh and perfectionist in the best sense of the word. Restrooms a perfection. There are some reserved parking lots right in front, but limited to hotel guests. Except for main season you are certain to find your lot on the street leading to the restaurant (and a harbor), otherwise a garage is always available at a nearby hotel complex Četiri opatijska cvijeta above the harbor.

Restaurant service is irreproachable and discrete, sommelier one of the best in Croatia. Wine list is arguably the finest in the countries of the former Yugoslavia regarding number and spread of labels, has several verticals, too, obviously still early ones due to relatively recent start. List of sparkling wines definitely is nearly unbeatable outside French three star restaurants. Dishes go well beyond traditional seafood cuisine, creativity is obvious, extending almost to signature dishes. For cuisine alone I can easily award 15+ on a 1 to 20 scale.

If you want to have fish and chips and / or do not want to spend, avoid the place by all means - as you will realize immediately when you are there. It is probably the most expensive restaurant in the Kvarner region of Croatia, but well worth the experience.

The restaurant was recently complemented by a small luxurious design hotel right on top of it (same brand), making the place a demanding traveller's local hub for discovering Istria and the Kvarner region. Will try next time.
