We were walking along the Opatija boardwalk, when we looked into the shop window of Caffe Wagner, located in the Hotel Milenj building. The cakes, chocolates, ice creams and everything else looked so beautiful, we could not resist walking in. Just walking in and looking at everything was well worth the effort. All their food is meticulously shaped. We sadly ordered only one slice of cake, one ice cream cup and some chocolates. Everything was delicious and of the highest quality. Excellent service as well. Highly recommended!

We recently stayed two nights at Hotel Mienij and although finding the location and standard ideal the biggest problem POOR aircon in the rooms
For a resort style hotel in a hot climate we had to move rooms 3 times to find an adequate room because the rooms are controlled by Beverly poor central system and not individual room systems
The AC was so bad that we had to get an extra fan in the room just to keep air flowing

A group of 7 of us (from the USA and Germany) had a delicious, delightful and reasonably priced late lunch/early dinner in May 2013. The service was efficient, the servers were professional, pleasant and helpful and spoke both German and English which was very helpful for our group. We skipped a formal dessert at the hotel itself but had the most delicious ice cream at the hotel vendor outside the restaurant itself. We spent a very pleasant day strolling the promenade along the waterfront. I can only imagine how much fun it would be to frolic in the water on a hot summer day! The city of Opatija was beautiful--the architecture was amazing and I hope to read up on the history of the city before I return again...and I definitely want to return again. I would highly recommend the restaurant to anyone visiting this beautiful city.

Room Tip: **We didn't stay at the hotel; we only ate at their restaurant. 8-)

We were looking for a one night stay in Opatija and ended up at the Hotel Millenij. The hotel is in a great location to just park your car and stroll through the town or take a long walk on the waterfront. The cafe attached to the hotel was the best place to sit and enjoy a coffee and dessert. There are flowers all around and the grounds are very well maintained. At first we were worried because our room was so warm, but once we mastered the sliding door we were set. I would definitely recommend the rooms on the waterfront side because the hotel is very close to the street on the other side and I imagine the noise could be an issue. Breakfast was excellent and included in the room. The staff in the restaurant were very accommodating as well. We arrived late in the evening for a bite to eat and just wanted something light. They were not put off at all with us not ordering a complete meal. The one negative is we woke on a weekend morning to a town worker blowing leaves and brush with a power blower on the promenade at 7:30 am. It did get us up early for a morning walk through town, but a bit annoying on a weekend morning.

I have stayd in this hotel many times before on business, but this time it was really not good. I walked into the room and it was really hot in the room. I tried the AC and ventilation and it was shut off. So I called the reception and they said the air condition is still off so i should open my window. My remark was but its very loud outside and towards the morning the cars will wake me up. Sorry was the answer, we cannot help the ventilation is shut down. As they have outside electric shades i pulled them up and opened the windows. So at 5 am the light came in the room also with the noise from outside. Also in the evening i was sitting at the bar waiting for service for about 10 min, no one came so i had to go and look for someone, i was served a beer and for the next 20 min no service again. I wanted a espresso or cappucino for breakfast but non was included in the breakfast, only an american coffee. All this was strange for a 5 star hotel. Someone should rethink the rating of this hotel and bring it back to a 4 star hotel.

Not the first time in Milenij hotel, so I can confirm that every stay was always an excellent stay! Great location with garage, beautiful SPA zone, delicious buffet breakfast. Even if you plan just a relaxing weekend (as we did) it is excellent choice. Check different packages on the hotel website. Tip: if you plan to have massage, book it immediately!

Room Tip: Go for the sea view room as rooms overlooking street could be noisy!

I was there for a short stay with my wife. We were looking for some more luxury hotel, with good internet connection, close to see side, with nice view.
All the expectations were made.

That was great relaxation, and great time there. Food was great, staff was very friendly, location is superb! In the city centre, but you can still enjoy peace and quiet (or is simply not so disturbing in this city).

A lot of nice restaurants not so far away.
If you look for nice sandy beach, forget about that. In front of the hotel, there is only concrete beach; you will have to drive couple kilometres, to find something else.
But for us, it was not important, so I will not say it was disadvantage.

I was hoping for a better room, since ours didn't have a direct see view, but still it was very nice.

This is a place, we shall come once again definitely.

Room Tip: For a sea view, you have to choose south located rooms. Might be hot in a summer thought. I would no...
