Center located, very clean and comfort hotel but very hard to park the car, even to stop by car to pick up the baggage. Rooms are big enough, the bathroom is very comfortable and the terrace with woderful view. Maybe the management could replace old 30"TV with new LCDs. There is no wifi in the rooms but only cable internet.

I stayed in this hotel for 4 night with my girlfriend as recompensation from our trip operator for staying in Ad Turres in Crikvenica. Due to high occupancy we received room at the attic. Room was quite small but very cosy and comfortable. Safe deposit, fridge, minibar, aircon, towels hair dryer, everything included. Room service changed towels and cleaned the room everyday. We had one big window in the roof so I cannot really say much about view :). Hotel in the hallway is really nice, comfortable leather sofas on each floor, plants in the halls, carpets and marble (or granite) everywhere.
Food in the restaurant was great. There was big big choice of meals for lunch, a minimum of 6 different dishes, all very very tasty. Breakfast each day similar, different types of egg omlets.

Hotel is nicely located, around 5-10 minute walk from Opatija's beach, 1 minute walk from beautiful park, very close to shops and restaurants.
Definitely a great place to stay in.

Thank you for your review. We are sorry that you didn't get a room with a nicer view, but as all of other hotels we are limited in that way. Please the next time put the notice with a wish for view and we will give you one, of course.

I have the most beautiful weekend in Opatija, stayed in lovely hotel Agava. Hotel is very nice and clean, service was very polite and helpful. We have a pretty room with great see view, breakfast and dinner are very rich and the food is delicious. For sure I will come back in this hotel! I recommend.

On the main street, this hotel maintained the upscale atmosphere of this resort town. Our room was large, the bed comfortable, and the bathroom not luxurious but well-maintained. We were only there for one night so we did not really get to enjoy much of the hotel or town. There are lots of restaurants nearby, and a walk along the waterfront was beautiful. It was interesting to see the old mansions. The hotel staff was great and even took charge of returning our rental car so that we could have dinner.

Room Tip: Select room off of the street side.

Driving from Asolo, Italy to Plitvicka, Croatia along the Adriatic coast, we decided to spend the night in Opatia. Some German tourists we met in town recommended the Hotel Agava. We reserved two rooms and even though it was a last minute reservation, we were given two rooms with balconies and views of the Adriatic. We selected dinner from a small but expertly prepared menu and complimentary slivavitz courtesy of Nermin, the manager on duty, and ate out on the terrace. Everything, from the first greeting by the English speaking staff, to the food, the spotlessly clean room, the free parking, and the thoughtful service, was first rate. I highly recommend this charming hotel when you are in this area. We travel to the Balkans frequently and will definitely return to the Hotel Agava.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the sea.

The entire Opatija is beautiful and has a pleasant Mediterranean climate. The city has its origins from a luxury vacation spot, it is a miniature Monte Carlo. Everything oozes style of the early 20st. The city is full of greenery, evening the terrace restaurant filled with people having dinner and there are playing classical music as a special charm. Agave is a beautifully refurbished building from the beginning of the century, the room in which I was very large and beautifully decorated in a classic style. The staff is extremely courteous and helpful, the hotel there under concrete slabs. The only downside is that they only have wired internet which can be a problem. Parking in the hotel charged 19 euros 24 hours, but I parked on the street and paid for 7 € / ha is not paid during the night.

The Hotel Agava is an early 20th century building which is fully renovated and modern, it just oozes charm. It stands on the main street in Opatja, with lots of bar and restaurant choices around it. The hotel staff were very attentive and helpful, all spoke excellent English. We had a corner room Number 97 which had a lovely balcony looking towards the marina, it also had a large window on the other outside wall. On sunny days, the room became warm unless you kept the shutters closed. The A/C managed to keep the room pleasant to sleep in.
The only problem is car parking which is located in a multi-story car-park close to the hotel but down a short steep hill and costs 17 Euro per day. This make arriving and leaving with suitcases difficult, however the hotel staff are on hand to assist and do so willingly.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the hotel overlook the Marina and the sea.
