We only stayed for one night but it's a fabulous hotel and right by the sea. Nice spacious room, friendly helpful staff. Motorbike friendly, as they let us park the bike right by the hotel. Breakfast was superb and there was so much to choose from. We only wish we could have stayed another night. Kudos to the piano player!

Very clean, comfortable, good sized room, air con excellent - but seaview essential. As there are glass windows from top to floor (no balconies) it felt like being on a cruise ship without the rocking and rolling! The food was very varied and plentiful - both at breakfast and dinner. The location is ideal - right on the prom. A lovely walk along the Lungomare. It also has an indoor pool if you feel the need for a swim. This resort is not ideal for children as it doesn't have beaches as such. Lots of little bays and harbours. The bus station is a short walk away but we found it a long coach ride (3 hrs each way) to get to the Plitvice Lakes. Would certainly go back to this hotel for a relaxing holiday.

Room Tip: Seaview essential. We were on 3rd floor and it was ideal.

While I would always recommend this hotel as it is clean, cozy, nice, with cute rooms and professional staff, there are some issues though. food is good, nicely done, but a bit monotonous. It's pretty much always the same menu. Hotel has two jakuzzi tubs but the water is always cold.
It was totally overbooked when we arrived, so we had problems to get a room, finally got lovely but tiny room. I must admit, I am still waiting to find a really bad hotel in Histria.
I would give this hotel 4, but it's a bit boring, so 3.

Good sized, very clean room with great sea view, no problems with the air con. Staff really lovely, food very good with lots of choice at breakfast or dinner. Wonderful club sandwiches at lunch time in the bar. It was great to sit out on the terrace just dont leave your food unattended at breakfast or the pigeons like to help themselves. Crystal clear sea but a little too cold. Fab location with lots of shops & cafes to visit, lovely to amble along the promanade. Travelsphere holiday was wonderful with a great tour rep and fab tours. Wonderful part of the world

Room Tip: You can pay extra for sea view which is great but remember no balconies. Eat on the cafe terrace at...

Rooms roomy enough but we found aircon a problem. Would not go below 21oC even though engineer looked at it and said it "was fine" and would go down to 19oC (our preferred night time temp.) It took over 3 days to get it down from 25oC!!

Very annoying and unnecessarily complicated system to obtain a towel for pool or beach use. Nearly £12 deposit (per person) required IN CASH in LOCAL CURRENCY which tied up one's cash which could otherwise have been spent in the resort. Pickup and deposit desk rarely manned due to staff shortages apparently. No where to leave wet towels so no option other than to try and dry as best one could in room. Not good.

Food plentiful but boring and monotonous and usually served overcooked and lukewarm. Bacon at breakfast overcooked and swimming in fat! Not even a boiled egg was supplied except for cold hardboiled ones. Not a lot of effort was made we felt to cater for their British guests as it was impossible to get a cup of tea or a slice of toast at breakfast despite the fact that ALL the usual teas - English Breakfast, Ceylon, Darjeeling and Assam - were readily available in the bar at an EXTRA cost!!! All that was available in the restaurant was a weak tisane in among all the fruit flavoured teas. After complaints they refused to supply the same teas that were on the bar and although they did provide a toaster it was usually not plugged in or when it was it was not calibrated correctly so only dried out the bread. We ate out several days at lunchtime so really only wanted a light salad for dinner. This however could not be had as there was NO cold meat OR cheese to be had just side salads and lettuce. Despite the fact that the local water was fine to drink they refused to provide any at dinner and insisted one bought bottled water! Now of course against the law in England.

Eating out locally was a real treat. We found several fantastic restaurants and these are reviewed elsewhere. Pity our tour operator Travelsphere did not give one the option of half board or B & B. The latter would certainly have been our choice.

This hotel is rated 4Star but I would have to say "not by British standards". Oh they have a lovely Sauna and Steam room but it was not even switched on!!! We also had a problem with bathroom supplies with not always receiving the correct compliment of towels and loo paper.
All annoying little niggles that we could have done without on our holiday.

The sea views are good and it is well located. Opatija itself is a delightful resort and I would be happy to return but frankly NOT to this hotel.

We stayed for 7 nights at this hotel in late May, on arrival our allocated room was a small double with views of the busy road and a very small shower room. We soon upgraded to a sea view room opposite, much more spacious, for a supplement of 10 euros a night. The hotel doesn't have balconies but the sea view rooms have large opening windows. The sun only comes into the room until midday though. The breakfast and dinner were all buffet and although there was quite a bit of choice I found the standard mediocre, and the food was never really hot, just sitting on hot water trays (bain Marie). For breakfast especially it would have been nice to have had someone cooking eggs to order, instead of just leaving them all in trays over the hot water. The staff were ok but never really engaging with the clients. Having breakfast on the terrace overlooking the sea was fine, except for the constant problem of pigeons trying to have their meal at the same time! There is no real beach at Opatija, every hotel has a concrete "patio" area where sun beds can be used. The hotel has a nice large indoor pool which is sea water and heated, I thought this was excellent. With very little effort and perhaps extra staff training, this could have been a much better hotel.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms especially on 5th and 6 floor a much better idea.

The hotel is in the centre of Opatija and you can walk to the famous beach and all the bars and restaurants. The rooms are a bit outdated, but nice and with a good size, clean and ours with a fantastic sea view.
The breakfast is impressive in content but maybe not in quality. The pool is nice and the fitness good though small. The bar and the sun terraces are nice and all staff friendly and very helpful.
The only downsize was the price for a small dog (17€ per night) and the stupid system for entering the parking which meant that we had to go to the reception each time we came back. I hope they change that!
