The 4 of us were there a couple of times already, every time it was exellent.
The scampi risotto is one of the best I ever had. The home made ravioli are also realy good.
The main course were meat dishes - veal medallions in two different ways and veal knee which was as tender as butter.
Boskarin was also good and tender but the veal with vongole shells is really a one of a kind designer dish that should be a must try.
Deserts are a beautifull sight on those small black tiles, and are also delicious.
Truffels / fresh mushrooms / great meat / seasonal menu are all reasons to visit Stanciju.
The prices are not cheap but are not unreasonable.

What a treat. We found this restaurant on TA. A carpaccio appetizer gratis, Mediterranean shrimp with homemade pasta and truffles appetizer, and goulash style beef with polenta, and thick veal medallions wrapped with bacon and topped with coarse ground pistachios. Topped off with a dessert like a chocolate lava cake with iced white (not sweet) chocolate. Every dish that was cooked came to the table hot and tasty!! Excellent service and good quality. Beautiful atmosphere. A rare treat!!

Although hard to find, it is a place not to be missed by a foodie. Presentation and the quality of the meals is excellent. Service is top notch as well.

In a couple or with friends is always at a high level. Two parallel tables, twenty people, a great chef and service.

I made a reservation for our group of friends but when we arrived there were no guests at all, so it was unnecessary.
We did not receive any menu and there was not much to choose from, especially for the starters and the first course and the main dishes were all about meat.
The waiter was not very helpful and only explained what we were eating after being asked.
Obviously he made a presumption that nobody in a group doesn't know anything about food so he didn't even bother.
Starters were OK, the liver pate' at least and the little homemade buns. The first course was just terrible, homemade pasta that would be fine if not for the terrible asparagus water based sauce that ruined the taste of shrimps.
The asparagus season has just started and nobody expected the fresh ones still in winter but the waiter said they were this years pick. The taste was awful and sour and everybody knows that is just typical for the old ones or the ones cooked too long which shouldn't be a problem here.
Pasta was immersed in this almost a soup. We had a feeling that they didn't want to bother at all, maybe because we weren't foreign tourist so who cares!
Some of us did not eat main course, and from the ones who did, only two of them said it was OK,but no more then that.
The others said it was too raw and the waiter didn't even asked how do they want it, and some of them said it was hard to chew.
The rest of us waited for the dessert... mine came looking just perfect as a picture...but that the only thing there is.....otherwise the taste was undetermined.. no difference between brown or white cream. The consistency was also the same...there were suppose to be some pistachio on top, but they were so fried that they tasted more like peanuts. For that matter they could as well be peanuts and no one would notice because of that burnt flavor.
The best part was the bill at the end...although there was no coffee, not everyone was eating a main course or a dessert. The food was obviously overpriced...and that was also funny because the terrible asparagus were on the bill as a separate ingredient. However some people suggested this place to us, and maybe the food is usually better, despite of prices. But I don't think none of us will come back any time soon.
The stuff should be more professional and helpful if the restaurant is planing to present itself as a high standard place and not to make any conclusions about any of their quest.
