Ibis Abidjan Plateau

I stayed there for 8 nights and even though the room condition was good but the service was bad.
I had a problem with the water and the reception promised to send a technician in the morning to fix the issue. When I was back at night, the problem was still not fixed. After few calls with the reception, they finally sent someone after 2 hours.

The food is expensive and horrible and every time I ordered, they brought me the wrong dish.

My husband and work colleagues are staying here at the moment, April 2013. My husband had his phone stolen from his room this morning. He left it on charge and left his room for a meeting locking the door etc. it is clearly obvious that a member of staff has stolen it. My husbands boss had his laptop stolen from the hotel lobby last night. Not sure of the full circumstances, but none the less there appears to be some serious security issues at the Ibis Plateau, Abidjan now my husband feels unsure about leaving his room even when it is locked, he is worried about his possessions and this is not right. BE VERY VIGILANT when staying here.

Was booked here for 2 nights during Feb 2013, and not at all of the class that is expected of IBIS,
1) Check in took over 30 min. since the room was not available, this too past their check out time..
2) room provided on the upper most level floor 18, was hot and humid no aircon. working in the corridor.
3) above the roof there was constant noise of some sort of hammering or a compressor making noise, though complained about this but they said they cant help on this!! strange
4) there was no ice in the bar for the drinks neither the beers were cold !! strange
5) food was good and the staff at the rest. was pleasant

too over crowded with people i doubted if every one of them was staying in the hotel making the hotel lobby all the more congested

Room Tip: do not book the top most floors, insist on the mid level floors

I stayed here for two nights in March 2013 and like most Ibis Hotels, rather small rooms. I did not like the floor but everything else about the small room was fine. Staff were very friendly and willing to help. The location of this hotel is also a winner. Please do not attempt to pay your bills in US Dollars as it will increase the room rate significantly because the "funny" exchange rate of US Dollars to the FCFA. I forgot to talk about the WiFi which was quite slow sometimes and breakfast had to be paid for.

Stayed at the hotel 20 to 27 March, 2013. Ordered dinner after a long day at a meeting and after waiting for over an hour, the waiter came back to say the food I ordered was not available. Ordered another type, and after waiting for another 1 and half hours noticing that the food was not forthcoming, checked with the waiter, he had to be reminded of what I re-ordered. Eventually went to bed without eating after waiting for over 3 hours at the restuarant.

Rooms are strict and basic. Ibis is the middle-ground among Abidjan hotels. There is neither room service no hair dryers. However, the staff are nice and respectful. Look out for Rose on arrival, she is better than other managers.

Located in Plateau, the business district, you can do business around and on foot. They have a rebate for United Nations' Passport holders and airport shuttle for free. Internet is also free and okay

Room Tip: Higher rooms have better views. Plan to dine outside of the environment in the evenings

Stayed here for five nights in November 2012. Hotel is clean and is based in what seems like a fairly safe part of the city. It was only about $2 taxi ride to get to some fairly decent restaurants. Otherwise, the room was small and wifi fairly slow, but these were not really serious issues. I was a little annoyed by the service, however. It is a good idea to bring CFA when you check in as the hotel gives an awful US$ exchange rate. Granted this is not unusual for many hotels, but it added about 16 percent to the cost of the stay. While the breakfast was adequate, the dinner was a bit expensive and the choice limited. One evening I ate at the bar and waited nearly an hour for my food; only after I complained to the manager did the food arrive, though without a hint of apology. Overall, this place is fine, though not amazing, and I felt secure.
