Went to the Tropicana Atlantic City to celebrate my birthday with family and friends. Had a great evening and even won some money on the slot machines. Enjoy the great selection of restaurants and shops. Always have a great time.

We have been going to the casinos and Atlantic City for over 10 years. We’ve tried them all, including the new Ocean (old Revel) and Hard Rock ( old Taj Mahal), but we keep coming back to the Tropicana. Once you’ve played there a few times, the offers they sent you a pretty good through the mail, and Comps add up mast. They have a pretty clear-cut separation between smoking and non-smoking in the casino, which is important to us, and the selection of machines is pretty good. They also have a good assortment of restaurants both casual and more formal in the Palm section. If you get a room there, be sure to ask for one with laminate wood flooring, since smokers do not honor nonsmoking rooms and the carpets hold the Smokey odor. The cocktail waitresses come around frequently, unlike many other casinos. Another plus is free parking, even valet, for 2nd tier and above cardholders. Hard Rock is nice and interesting to walk thru with all the memorabilia, but I cannot get over the $10-20 parking fee .

We have stayed at the Tropicana many times. If gambling is your thing, stick to the North and South towers which are closer to the action than the others and newly renovated. West tower is close to the nightclubs, but it is quite a far walk from everything, and it's very dated looking. Havana tower, though nice, is also far away from the gambling and nightlife. The Chelsea tower, which was previously the Chelsea hotel they recently acquired and made an indoor bridge walkway to cross the street to get over to it. It was somewhat updated, but it still looks dated and worn. You can't beat the awesome venues here, there is literally something for everyone. From IMAX movies to the escape rooms. There are restaurants for almost every price point from uber expensive to very reasonable. Overall a great hotel for the $$.

Room tip: Room service can be very slow for the $. Best if you order breakfast the night before and it will get there at the time you request it.

Always stay at the Trop. Many restaurants to choose from. Most bang for your buck is dining at Carmines. Casino area very bright not dark like a lot of other casinos. Rooms are clean and staff is courteous.

Nice hotel with some opportunities for improvement.

Stayed in the Chelsea Towers which are connected to the Casino and main hotel via skybridge on the 5th floor.

The good:

The Chelsea was quieter than the main hotel

Nice view of the beach

Exiting and entering the hotel through the Chelsea entrance was convenient and less hectic than the main hotel

Opportunities for improvement:

The public areas of the Chelseas Tower are old and tired and in need of refreshing
