“Harbor Tower in a need of an update”
Reviewed July 26, 2013

If you want the full experience of Atlantic City, stay on one of the properties on the Boardwalk. Harrah's is pretty secluded and the beach is a shuttle ride away. It's a pain in the butt to get over there. You can take a cab, the Jitney (the best option) or the free shuttle which takes forever to arrive (and it's often full, so you have wait even more.) I find it weird that the free shuttle is such a hassle, you would think the casinos would want to get you to their properties as quickly as possible to spend money. Instead, you wind up wasting about two hours to go three miles....so take the Jitney for $2.25...it's worth it!

We were in the Harbor Tower. There are newer towers, but this one is in desperate need of an update. The carpeting is old, it smells a bit moldy and musty and the rooms could use a huge deep cleaning. Our carpeting had sand in it everywhere....behind the bed, around the couch, etc. It made me wonder if it was from Hurricane Sandy..that's how much sand there was in there room.

The bed was comfy and there is a nice-sized flat screen for those who like to watch TV. Do note that the walls are paper thin and you can hear every toilet flush and every conversation from the room next to you.

The staff is extremely nice and very accommodating. I think they were the highlight of the property.

Otherwise, I wouldn't stay here again. Find an updated property on the Boardwalk, I think it makes for a better AC experience.

Room Tip: Away from the elevators.....it's noisy near there.

My husband and I stayed in the Waterfront Tower 27th floor during our first stay at Harrah's in Atlantic City. Room was large clean, quiet king with a beautiful night view of the Casinos along the boardwalk. Harrah's provides free shuttle service to sister casinos-Bally's, Caesars, and Showboat, beware of the rude driver. Per the sign, shuttle service begins @10:00 am..he arrived 45 minutes late and arrived with a half a busload and only took on a few passengers. We ended up utilizing the Jitney bus service ( $2.25 each way ). We had a nice time and look forward to going back.

I have stayed there now twice with my boyfriend and we both love it! The rooms are spacious as are the bathrooms ( king bayview tower) with a big stand up shower and soaking tub. The young lady checking us in was very friendly and quickly processed our registration. We ate at Sammy D's for breakfast since the buffet was closed and loved it! Excellent food and service ( you have to try the S'mores pancakes). We can not wait to go back and use the pool there!

For how much they charge for the room you would expect something better than the Holiday Inn. The room smelled musty. The bureau was tilted so if you put things on top they would roll off. The refrigerator was in the bureau so food would fall out if you didn't wedge it. Also when you shut the refrigerator door too hard the top drawer would open. They also have no information on pool hours, when shuttles run, entertainment in lounge, etc. You need to talk to the concerage or front desk for any information. No coolers in rooms but you don't find that out till you are in the parking lot.

When in AC we normally stay at the Showboat for convenience but tried something different for a change. Only stayed for one night and informed them we'd be in after 10pm. Had a very quick checkin for a standard room and before we left the counter the clerk said he's upgraded us into a different room. We thought nothing of it until we opened the door and had a massive 2 room suite with hardwood flooring and bar!!! The bedroom was huge and also had a jacuzzi in it to go along with the marble bathroom which was wonderful. Big flat screen tv's in each room as well. Great view of the bay and very clean setup all around. No doubt this was the best overnight stay and room we've ever had. Never thought we'd be so lucky.

Room Tip: We were on the 16th floor of one of the towers.

Just left a Waterfront Tower room and the trash in the hallway that was there on Friday was still there Sunday. Half filled glasses littered the hallway Sunday morning, and we were awakened by demonic shrieks twice during our stay. If you don't like drunk bachelorette parties, don't go on a weekend. Rooms were large, well appointed, if a bit "tired" with nicks, chips, and stained carpets. Empty refrigerator was a plus, as was coffee pot, although it had no tea. Enjoyed the pool, their limited shopping, and the casino treated us well. Jitney ($2.25 per ride) got us to the boardwalk and came frequently, as service at Sammy D's was horrid. We will stay elsewhere next time.

We (hubby, 24 year old daughter and myself) - flew a charter from Pittsburgh to AC - Friday to Sunday. We had to separate rooms - ours was in the Bayview Tower 20059 Smoking King and daughters was in the Marina tower 15011. The rooms were fine - no issues at all. The Bayview Tower has safes but the Marina tower doesn't. The Marina Tower room was newly refurnished - hardwood/laminate floors and darker colors - more masculine then feminine.

Ate breakfast both mornings at Sammy D's - everything we had was great - especially the Eggs Bennie. Ate dinners at the Diamond Lounge - Harrahs twice and Caesars once. Caesars Diamond Lounge is alot nicer - and better food selections. We just couldn't see paying $40 for the buffet at Harrah's. Seriously $40 for breakfast. We frequent Vegas a couple time a year - and for $45 we can get the 24 hour pass and eat 3-4 meals.

Only complaint I have is the shuttle from Harrahs to the boardwalk. We actually never used it - since now it's 45 minutes between shuttles and the couple of times we tried to use it - only 6 people got off - and we didn't even get on - since a couple of non-diamond/non-7 stars snuck in ahead of us. There was a young couple waiting - they couldn't get on 2 different shuttles - they had already waited 1-1/2 hours for a shuttle. I asked if they'd like to share a cab - it's only $13 for the cab. I spoke to other Diamond members and they also didn't appreciate having to wait so long for the "free" shuttle either. Just MHO.
