“Do your self the favor and DON'T stay here!”
Reviewed December 20, 2013

i had a bad feeling about this hotel from the other reviews and decided to give it a shot any way and what a mistake! I go to Atlantic City about 4-5 times a year and have comped rooms at all the ceasars locations and tropicana. My boyfriend and I decided to stay here for our anniversary and pay for a room for two nights because of the pictures of the room and the view and having a kitchen and Jacuzzi tub. This hotel really ruined our trip.

We first got there late around 10 oclock at night and there was NO ONE to be found, they had to find a maintenance guy to check us into our room the whole process took about 25 minutes, already annoyed we walked into the DIRTIEST SMELLIEST most DISGUSTING room, the stench was like old i don't even know how to explain it, it was NOTHING what the pictures described nor were the views, so many little things were broken, the Jacuzzi tub you couldn't have paid me to get in it was so disgusting, and the tv did not work at all. and the bed is a ROCK HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE

The next day i went downstairs to ask for another room and the lady at the front wasn't the friendliest but wasn't rude, after some discussion she said she could place us into another room. The second room was MUCH better, it was a little bigger to. It felt clean and the view was much better (still was not getting in the Jacuzzi because that still looked disgusting).

The location of this hotel on the boardwalk is not horrible its a little bit of a walk to the mall and ballys but we like walking so we had no problem. Our problem was getting back to the hotel at night....(we took one of those guys with a cart from Bally's to the hotel) the outside door has a key swiper for your room key which is great makes the hotel more secure BUT apparently they do not use that because they lock the door completely so now it is POURING WINDY rain and we have to walk down the boardwalk about 4 stores only to walk down the most sketchiest ally to get into the hotel. Obviously FURIOUS we spoke our mind and the lady at the front desk (who was for the other hotel they share not Atlantic palace) was the NASTIEST most rude person. Blew our mind they had a security guard in there front entrance (which is hard to explain but its very weird) but not from the entrance from the boardwalk instead they make you walk down this ally where it looks like someone would get jumped or murdered.

They have NO convenience store or any type of food. there is a deli that is attached and is so expensive its mind blowing. The parking garage is the biggest pain to...no elevators.

ONLY thing we liked about this hotel was this elderly man who ran the parking garage. Sweetest person!

Do your self the favor....save your money time and aggravation and stay else where. Tropicana is ALWAYS a GREAT experience

Room Tip: we really didn't like either of our rooms.

I had a bad feeling about this hotel the moment I arrived and was told by the front desk that I need to check in down the hall through a small office. The person there was unfriendly. I had to sign a form agreeing to pay for any damages made in the room and I had to pay a $10 fee for the keys. I already left a $100 security deposit during the time I made the reservation. I was told by the person that this is a "private property", I did not feel like I was staying at a hotel.
The room was very bare and uninviting. There were signs in the bathroom and kitchen mentioning there will be charges for any missing towels or other items.

I selected this resort and location because my RCI points were about to expire.
So I used the room for a business trip.

This hotel is in the middle of a facelift. The. Resort room I had was renovated. But it's a patch job renovation. It does not appear to be professional done. Yes, my room had some issues. Nothing I could not live with. Currently this is a "C" class hotel. Like an older Best Western. But I could see the improvements being made in the lobby and business center.

The staff was outstanding. Better than some of the name brand casinos in the area.
Tenia was the best. I would return to the resort just because of her. Tenia's service made up for the things I did not care for at the resort.

Area around hotel and lobby looks a bit dingy. It is one of if not the last hotel on the boardwalk. There is a little alley-way on the side of the hotel that looks very dirty and unsafe, especially since the hotel keys does not work on the doors located in that area.
Check in staff was very unprofessional. You check in at a little booth which is hard to find especially since the closed sign is displayed on the door even though they're open. Can be very misleading especially late at night.
Parking lot is very tight and there are no elevators.
Rooms were clean and spacious, with awesome views of the beach and the boardwalk. Only queen size beds though and they are quite firm.
With the right owner hotel has a lot of potential but as it stands right now no one seems to care much about that.

We selected this hotel because we wanted a quick, inexpensive weekend getaway for our anniversary and as fate would have it, I found them on Groupon.

Our experience was poor upon check-in. Since we reserved the hotel side we could not check in at the front desk, that's only available for Blue green guests. Hotel guests must find the little booth at the end of the hallway beyond the lobby. The sign said closed, but we later found the gentleman sitting in the corner. When we informed him that the sign said closed, he said "yeah, don't worry about that." Our room was on the 21st floor, amazing view of ocean and boardwalk! Big beautiful windows allow for a panoramic view. Everything else in the room is bare bones, absolutely no-frills. The bed is extremely firm, felt like we were sleeping on a concrete slab, by day two we both had achey backs. One of the perks of the hotel is that its on the boardwalk, only you can't get into the hotel from the boardwalk because the card reader was broken. If you decide to stay here just expect sub-standard service and accomodations...with a view.

We wanted a hotel to stay for the Beyoncé concert. We needed a hotel that was reasonable, came across this one. We stayed at the bluegreen side. First the parking garage sucks. It's very tight and narrow. Only one way to get in and out. We had to check in first get a ticket in order to park. They will not let you in the garage without that ticket. That is ridiculous! The front personnel was ok. The hotel is run down. Needs a lot of renovation. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The elevators are very slow. We end up taking the stairs the majority of the time. When we came back from the concert the elevator was taking too long so we headed for the stairs. It was locked the staff member said they kept the stairs locked for the guests safety. Isn't that a fire hazard? So overall this is not a safe hotel to stay in. Do not stay here. Next time, I will stay at Revel or Borgata.

If you like fancy, you might want to stay elsewhere. There is nothing pretty - not the entrance, not the lobby, not the elevators, not the hallways...nothing.
We stayed in a small studio on the 29th floor. It had a queen size bed and a sofa bed. The sofa was not comfortable to sit on and we didn't use the sleeper. The bed was very comfy though.
I can't imagine 4 people in the room at the same time. It's very small. There is one dresser with two drawers and there is a closet and a tiny kitchen table with 2 chairs. This was one of the remodeled studios, which is a great improvement over the old units, judging by the photos others have posted. I must say, the room, and everything in it, was very clean, except the windows. Maid service is $40 a day if you want it.
The view of the ocean and boardwalk was great.
The steam room was awesome, although the entire gym area was very desolate...it was a little scary to be down there alone.
The garage is very small with narrow stairs and no elevator. You need to empty your car before you check in. It's $6 per day for one car. If you have more than one, there is a lot next door which charges $12 a day. WIFI is available for extra $$$.
Tenia at the front desk and Martin the bellman were very friendly.
The batteries died in the lock mechanism on my door one night. The security guard was very helpful, but the lock couldn't be fixed, I don't think they had batteries! If I left the room, they would have to let me back in with the master key. Luckily, I was checking out in the morning.
The best thing about the Atlantic Palace is the location, right on the boardwalk, allowing for easy access to casinos and food!

Room Tip: Make sure you get a remodeled room. And higher floors are always better than lower.
