Location, Location, Location......I think this hotel has the best location of all the hotels on the boardwalk, it is in the middle of everything. Easy access to everything, it is also connected to this awesome diner, 7 Brothers-- excellent breakfast. The rooms are very spacious, the kitchen comes with everything you would need.
Other than the location, the rest of your experience, depending on your room could go either way good or bad. So the cons: not all rooms have a view of the ocean (you may be just looking at other buildings); only 3 elevators for the entire building, meaning many long waits for the elevator; the car garage is not attached to the hotel, nor does the garage have a elevator, so be comfortable climbing steps (there is a charge daily to park your car in the garage); not all of the rooms are renovated, some rooms have a 1980's vibe (in which I stayed), only 1 small-4ft swimming pool and 1 small Jacuzzi in the building; WiFi totally sucks, and the cable goes in and out.
Honestly I should have probably complained and asked for another room, but the location sort of made up for alot of the weaknesses, being that I spent I alot of my time at the beach.

First of all, when booking a hotel, we adjust our expectations accordingly. If it's not an Aman resort, we will certainly not expect top-notch service. We are not hard to please. But the experience at Bluegreen at Atlantic Palace was something else.

Friday night check-in was uneventful. The website said that they were having construction done until July 3, 2013. Well, we checked in on July 12, and lobby construction was still on-going. But that was dutifully ignored as front desk said they were offering free WIFI to make up for the construction. Sweet.

We were given a room on the 10th floor. It was quite clean actually. But again- after reading reviews here, I knew that there was a chance one could be given one of the older rooms. And with our luck, of course we were given an *old* room. The huge behemoth of a CRT TV occupied a mammoth platform right in the center of the room. You were also allowed to use parts of that platform as your dining table. The room was small, but what would you expect from a studio. Can't complain on that point. But the bathroom sink was not only small, but very low as well. Now, I'm only 5'4", so that says a lot if i have to bend to comfortably use the sink. But we took it in stride. MInd you again, the room was pretty clean.

At 11 PM that night was when the music and bass thumping started to creep in. It would continue until around 2 or 3 AM. Front desk said that was from the beach bar. OK, that's not the hotel's fault, but could I please politely request for a room on a higher floor then? I was told to call back at 10 AM the next day to speak with a manager. OK, I can deal with that.

I call the next day and was surprisingly accommodated without the need to grovel too much. Being that I asked to be transferred to a higher floor, they put us all the way on the 31st, the topmost floor. Nice. So we gathered all our 10,000 pieces of luggage, called the porter, and moved into the 31st floor. It was still small but was clearly renovated. Very, very nice. We were so happy, I almost gave the porter a $20 tip.

That same afternoon while in the room, we started to hear a whirring, hypnotizing, brrrrrrr-something sound. Another call to front desk was in order. "There seems to be a helicopter--trying-to-land-on-the-roof-kind-of-a-sound going on here," I tell them. Front desk says it might be the boiler, and do we want another room? Uh, we just moved in here a couple of hours ago. We'll sit it out and see if we can manage to "forget" that noise exists.

Well, we were trying to be real cowboys and were willing see how long we could last. But even after popping 2 sleeping pills, I was still awakened in the middle of the night by my favorite helicopter. Called front desk. They'll send security up, they say. 45 minutes later, I knew no security was coming up. And calling them again would result in the same brush-off. I marched downstairs. So anyways, after much bemoaning and grinding of teeth, we were moved that very same night to YET another room! 17th floor this time. This was our third room in 3 days.

The third room was the best looking one. We had about double the window area compared to the earlier two rooms. But it was still such a downer to have to re-pack, move, and un-pack again. We were at our wits' end by this time. And yes, we ended up not finishing our week-long vacation.

So to make this already long story just a little longer- Bluegreen is a big HIT OR MISS. If you want to have the seven days you took off from work have a 50/50 chance of being a great vacation, book at Bluegreen! But if you want to make sure that when you take a vacation THAT YOU REALLY ARE ABLE TO TAKE A VACATION, go somewhere where the service and amenities are somewhat more consistent.

Oh- and yes, what all the other reviews about the elevators are true. We've managed to climb DOWN from the 31st to the ground floor one time. And we'd also had the opportunity to climb UP to the 17th floor at yet another time. So when the room maids and cleaners with their carts and cleaning supplies are all but slumped near the elevators waiting, listen to what they're trying to say. Unlike us, they can't push their carts up or down the stairwell, so they have no choice but to wait. And what they're trying to say- or at least what they said to us was: "We've been waiting here for over 20 minutes."

We bought a groupon for Atlantic Palace and we were in AC for the wine and food festival. We stayed for two nights. I was worried about what the room would be like after reading some pretty bad reviews. We stayed in room 2005 and one whole wall was windows with a beautiful view of the ocean. The room was clean and it was very plain. The bed was very uncomfortable. The entry from the boardwalk never worked which caused us to walk around to the side of the building every time we entered. Check in and checkout were very easy. We were told at checkout that our room had been renovated in 2009.

On the positive side the room was clean, wi-fi was free and we had a great ocean view and the location was good. The little kitchen area was nice with a small refrigerator, microwave, and 2 burner stove. The utensils provided were minimal but we had brought much of what we needed ourselves. There was a full sized coffee pot but no coffee was provided which is a bit unusual these days. Most of the staff were pleasant and helpful. Also there was a big garden tub with jets that we really enjoyed after a day of walking around.

On the negative side, this is a 31 floor facility that had 2 working elevators. These 2 elevators were used by guests, bell hops and housekeeping! It wasn't unusual to wait as long as 25 minutes for an elevator. The parking garage was 6 floors with NO elevator. The bed was horrible! A very old inner spring mattress that was very uncomfortable.

With a little work this could be a very nice place but currently the elevator situation alone is enough for me to steer people another direction.

Just returned from a week long stay at the Blue Green at Atlantic Palace. Prior to arrival, we called to confirm our reservation and asked a few questions upfront:
1. If you have more than one vehicle traveling with you, you wil pay for the additional vehicle, which will be parked in the flat lot behind the garage.
2. There is no maid service, except one day a week. With this information at hand, if we needed extra linens/towels, we requested them and were provided them promptly. Matter of fact, we needed to call for an extra blanket and the need was quickly addressed, waiting no more than five minutes for them to get one to us.
3. Apparently, for our studio, we were supposed to only have a small refrig but were, again, pleasantly surprised that we had a full size one.

Reading the reviews that were recently posted, I guess you can't please everyone. Yes, the elevators was running slowly but I figured this much out: The staff needs to use the same elevators as the guest. This, in itself, makes for congestion. You have two elevators trying to deal with arriving guests, guests visiting other guests on other floors, resort staff trying to provide services so people won't complain about not getting their towels, etc. and covering 31 floors of a full house. Come on people, you need to relax and realize at full capacity, you are going to experience some delays.
Our room: a studio on the 17th floor, Rm 1702, recent renovated with dark wood furnishing, full kitchen with all necessary utensils, a pull out sofa, large screen television and an awesome view looking north towards Steel Pier. The bathroom had double sinks, large jacuzzi/soaker tub, linen closet (we kept it stocked with extra linens/towels). One downside for the room was minimal closet space. Room is not smoking, as is the entire building.

Pool: We were there for the beach and only went to the pool area once, located on the 3rd floor. We were not overly impressed with the pool area, pool water was cloudy. You are supposed to be provided towels in the pool area but we didn't see any one or any towels that looked like they were waiting to be used.

The staff of the BlueGreen were quite helpful and approachable. My hubby's aunt and uncle stayed in the unit the first two nights. Upon arrival for our portion of the stay, the front desk clerk Keasha (Johnson) was personable and I felt at home that she was asking me "Are you.....?' I was like yes??? She remembered hubby's uncle telling her and she addressed me by first name. During the week, anytime we approached staff to ask a question or in need of something, everyone was quite friendly and accommodating. Another staff member I would like to mention, also, was Kareemah (Payne)...what a sweetheart! She was so warm and inviting.

Location: Boardwalk front, just walk out the access, walk across the boards and on the beach you are. Ripley's Believe it or Not just next store, lots of shops close by, 0.99 cent store (stock up on canned sodas 2/0.99 and fill the refrig and they have snacks too). Steel Pier a 7 minute walk. The Revel-10 minute walk.

Overall, we would stay there again!

Room Tip: There is no room service, which is reflected in the rating.

Would never stay at this hotel again! The toilet did not work and it was not until the next day that another room was offered. And the staff was O so impolite and unprofessional. This hotel is really GHETTO! I checked out and booked at the Caesar and what a difference.
