Reviewed February 16, 2014

Arrived the night before big storm, w/ reservation for deluxe tower ocean view room. No waiting for check-in with all the cancellations but were told 'your ocean view room' is not guaranteed. They managed to find one on 43rd floor, however, since hotel must have been 3/4 empty; security card access required for tower elevator. Needed someone to plug in nightstand lamp and it was virtually impossible to reach Front Desk, Housekeeping or Maintenance on phone. Ditto for restaurants. Room was spacious and view of Thursday's nor-easter over Atlantic coast filling those large windows was spectacular. Stains on carpet but decent beds. Two restaurants (advertising special-price dinners as well as regular menus) were closed, as were most other eateries. Had one dinner at Harry's, friendly waitstaff, delicious grilled salmon but long wait to get oysters and clams shucked. Depended on Johnny Rockets, which provides takeout. Also, walkways allow one to get to Caesars and the Pier Shoppes without going outdoors. All in all, found it understaffed and, while employees were pleasant, no signs of caring management whatsoever. Had fun; just leery about returning when Northeast is not snowed in.

By the way that Atlantic City is suffering and needing business, I'm surprised that hotel rooms are overpriced. Stayed here Thursday night and hotel was asking over $200 for a room. Went through Priceline and got a premium room for $40.00. Room wasnt ready when we checked in and had to wait a half hour. We were in the Garden Tower where the rooms are nicer, however the rug by the window was soaking wet. And the walls are paper thin. Casino layout was poor and slots were not paying. Casino was actually empty. Breakfast in the morning at Six was the worst service ever. They had only 3 waitresses/waiters and they were impatient and stressed because they were understaffed. The manager was cleaning off tables. What happened to busboys??? The food was good though after waiting an hour to get it. All in all, this casino doesnt make my favorite list.

This is what I expected for my money in AC. Room was large with a great view. The decor was interesting, sort of a retro contemporary (does that make sense to anyone other than me?). The plastic covered sofa made me laugh. The bed was very comfy, lots of hot water in the shower with decent pressure. The room was clean, even if the hallway outside the room was not so much. The check-in line was "Friday evening long" and we waited about 20 min. Once we got to the check-in desk, we asked to be near my brother-in-law. This request was quickly and happily granted. Elevators were fast. Peeling wall paper in the bathroom.

Room Tip: Ask for a newer room.

Our room was clean but old and outdated. There was a tear in our sheets, the bathroom fixtures were oxidized and there were cigarette butts on the floor in our hallway on our 2 day stay.(same ones). The room was large and comfortable and had a great view of the ocean. Cell service was not good and there is a $15 charge for WiFi. I dined in one of the restaurants for breakfast and was served cold homefries 2 days in a row. ( I mentioned the cold homefries on day 2 and the water still brought them out cold). My husband was at the hotel for a professional class, which left me in the casino alot. The casino was OK again a bit old and shabby. There were not enough non smoking sections for my liking and I left smelling like cigarettes.

I understand the main attraction here is gambling, however if you host business conventions you should also accommodate the attendees. The rooms are very worn and outdated. Nearly impossible to get cell coverage which means I was held hostage to the $15.00 hotel provided WiFi. Even at this premium, it was pretty slow. The casino floor was very quiet with little enthusiasm from the patrons or the dealers. Wait staff was slow with drinks too. Overall, I would give it 2.5 stars. I would not choose to stay here again unless it is home to another convention as convenience trumps a ride in a jitney each morning and night. Front desk staff was very friendly.

Room Tip: The Dennis Towers are dated and worn. I can not speak to the other towerss

I stayed here 1/25-1/28. The service here was GREAT! the room was spacious, clean and the view amazing. The bed was the best I have slept on in some time (memory foam). the casino was ok, (seemed a little tired) the restaraunt was very good. I had a very good experience overall.

Room Tip: ask for the Tower with view of the ocean.

The best thing of this hotel is the valet service. They were friendly and very helpful. We were there for a cheer competition - 2 Moms and 2 girls. The front desk on the other hand were awful, first they put us in a single room even though the reservation was for a double room and it took speaking to the Manager to get it cleared. It took 2 hours for our luggage to come up to the room since the first guy just left our stuff by the service elevator and went on a break and this took quite a few phone calls to find out. Now, to the room-it was small, cramped and smelled. Housekeeping didn't vacuum the room, just made our bed with the same sheets, and the towels were literally thrown on the counter! Will never stay there ever again!!!
