Description: Carmine's is a family style restaurant offering exceptional value to its guests through the many dishes of Southern Italian cuisine. The Carmine's concept is to bring its guests a "wow-factor" sized portions and making any meal feel like an Italian American wedding feast. Platters of homestyle antipasto, pasta, decadent seafood or meat entrees, and of course homemade desserts are all staples at Carmine's, meant for sharing amongst friends and family. When great food and wine are supported by friendly and knowledgeable service, the results are magic - we want every day to feel like a Sunday afternoon at Grandma's.

“very good food & the atmosphere is nice”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

we had dinner just the other night while getting away from it all for 2 nights at the Tropicana. Caesar salad to start which was very good, only criticism is that the family style portions can't be toned down a bit for a party of 2. Shrimp Parmigiana for the entree which had nice sized shrimp and we asked for a bed of pasta under the shrimp parm instead of a platter of pasta, worked nicely for us,My wife had a couple of glasses of wine , I had an iced tea. The bill came to over $90.00 less the tip, pricey but good food & excellent service. We took enough back to our hotel room (fridge) for a future meal.

“Great Family Style Menu”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

Reasonable, great service, good food and huge portions. We went during the week on the advice of a Chelsea Hotel employee. We were served immediately. Had a chicken dish with spaghetti - more than enough for two people with a decent appetities.

“Terrible Awful”
Reviewed April 10, 2013

Dinner for 5 started with a delicious salad! It went downhill from there. The hot appetizer consisted of mushy mushrooms, mushy eggplant rollantini, clams casino where the only part of the clam was the shell - it was loaded with filler, mussels and stromboli that were just okay, and some other items that we couldn't identify. Each piece of chicken was on top of a teaspoon of mushy spinach. I think the spinach came out of a baby food jar. The chicken saltimbucco was dry as a bone considering it had a flood of brown gravy on it. The chicken was probably less than a quarter inch thick. Shrimp scampi....unbeknownst to us was not served over pasta. It was however covered in some sort of bread crumb mixture. It was so overcooked and tough you could not cut the shrimp with a fork.
On the upside, the wait staff was wonderful.
If you know good quality food and good Italian food - Carmine's is not for you.

“I can't believe I ate the whole thing”

Carmine's is an ITALIAN , italian restaurant. Great food, good drinks and a very stimulating atmosphere. You have to love the pictures that are all over the place. Huge portraits of your favorite "Italian" entertainers, its cool.
Three things; Bring the family, bring your appetite, and bring your wallet!
The food is served "Family Style" , the portions are big, meant to be shared. The menu is big, literally, it hangs on the wall for all to see. Plus the bill you'll get is big as well. However it is worth it. If you love this kind of food, just go.MM MM Good.

“Great restaurant!”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

My girlfriend and I had lunch with another couple on Easter Sunday. Seated at our designated reservation time our server brought us water bread and asked if we wanted drinks immediately. Our food was made to order and brought to us piping hot. Even though all food is served family style the portions are sufficient and seasoned to perfection. This is my 3rd time dining at Carmine's in Atlantic City. With the exception of poor wait services on my 1st visit (which was addressed and handled to my satisfaction) every experience has been a very pleasant.
