Winter Get-Away

The Wyndham skyline tower was a wonderful experience from the welcoming check-in to the hotel service workers. The room was beautiful and exactly what I was searching for when I was looking for my accommodations. The 1 bedroom suite for perfect for 3 or more people. Separate entry off the master bedroom was a plus. Full kitchen was also wonderful. Indoor pool, activities for the children and entertainment for the hotel guests daily. I also like the location of this property. This is my new favorite place to stay in AC.

Myself and three of my very close friends stayed at Wyndham Skyline Tower on Sat. and Sun. It was a 2 bedroom suite. It was beautiful.the bedrooms had queen beds and one had a jacuzzi,2 bathrooms, large sitting room and kitchen area. 3 TVs and a balcony(although it was quite cold). The suite was immaculate. Plenty of blankets and towels. The valet parking was great. For 4 females we had a lot of luggage! The staff was very helpful and friendly. They tried to get us to sit in a seminar,I'm guessing for a timeshare but they were not pushy at all. On the corner was The Atlantic grill perfect to walk to to start our weekend. There is everything you would want to do in close proximity to where we were, though we didn't walk at night. We used Uber or a taxi. Clubbing at night gambling music and shopping at the outlets. The resturants around offer every type of cuisine possible. The room was very affordable split 4 ways. I am definitely looking forward to another weekend and I would highly recommend the skyline tower to anyone.

My family and I have stayed at a couple Wyndham locations in the past but this was our first time at the Wyndham Skyline Tower. Our stay at this hotel would have been somewhat a pleasant experience, but instead it was ruined by the timeshare horror of time wasted experience.

Once we finished checking in, we were asked to walk over to the security counter where we were greeted by a friendly front desk representative who went over a few things about the hotel and what it has to offer and then came the timeshare presentation schedule.

I explained to the rep that we are not interested in purchasing a timeshare at this time and that we don't want to waste any time during our vacation. She said it's going to be less then an hour and there are no obligations and that we will get to keep the gift regardless. I thanked her and opted not to schedule for the presentation.

To make a long story short. She convinced my wife to attend the presentation and my wife seemed interested to learn more about it. I finally gave in and agreed to attend just to make my wife happy.

The presentation was scheduled for 10:30AM the next morning. We woke up the next morning on a phone call at 7:30 AM reminding us about the time share presentation!!!! HOW RUDE!!!!

We went and sat through the one hour presentation and at the end of it we were greeted by a member relations representative who went over some details about the program and what it has to offer. I explained to her that we don't want to waste her time or ours and that we may be interested next year.

She asked us to give her just ten minutes of our time and that is all she will need. That ten minutes some how was turned into a 100 minutes and more. She brought her supervisor to convince us and failed brought her office manager to convince us and also failed!!!! That's in addition to countless creeps walking around our table trying to listen to our conversation with the time share representative. We did not walk out of that hell hole until 1:20 PM !!!!

At the end, we declined and they handed us the "GIFT" certificate!!!! Oh, Great....A free 7 night stay at any Wyndham RCV location!!! Yeah right!!!

It's a complete scam people!!!! DO NOT waste your time with their timeshare non-sense. It's truly a complete scam.

Later on when we returned back to the hotel, I went online to register the certification and to see what's available to book. Guess what!!!! lol ... Nothing, nada, rien is available for free!!!!! no matter what date or location combo I've chosen, all my searches came back with an upgrade fee of $799 or more for the 7 night stay...lol.

In addition to the timeshare horror here are some more cons:

- Be prepared to have a book or a news paper to read or something because the elevators take ages to come

-Check in at 4pm and check out 10am first hour delayed is $35 and each additional hour after that is $100 ...yup, you read that right... each additional hour delayed in checking out is a whooping $100!!!!!!

-Horrible location (Safety is a major concern here with junkies hanging out all around the property)

-No supervision by the pool with kids as young as six years old by themselves jumping and splashing all over the pool

Room tip: Stay away from the timeshare scam

The 2 bedroom unit was nice, clean and spacious. We could even see the beach from our room on the 27th floor. The elevators are a little slow. The staff was friendly. We opted to stay parked during our entire stay at $10/day. There was a lot of alcohol involved so we took uber. If it wasn't so cold we could have walked to Caesars which is where we enjoyed the nightlife.

Room tip: Stay away from the elevators and bay side for a decent view.

My wife and I stayed at the Wyndham Skyline Tower in Atlantic City towards the end of January, 2017. We only stayed one night from Sunday - Monday due to the minimum amount of points needed through our ownership in Club Wyndham (which is an incredible program regardless of what you may read).

Before we arrived I called and spoke to Michael who informed me that VIP check-in was at 2 PM and regular check-in was at 4 PM. Since we are Club Wyndham VIP's we were happy to hear that early check-in was available. We requested a renovated room on a high floor, away from the elevators. We also requested a lighthouse view. Michael said that he would put a note in the reservation.

Upon arrival we dropped our car with the valet and proceeded to the check-in counter. The check-in process was quick and we were given a renovated room on the 29th floor with a view of the lighthouse, just as requested.

Our room was beautiful as you can see from the attached photos. It was new, clean and perfect for our one-night getaway.

We did opt-in for the sales presentation and received a $75 gift card for attending. We were also given show tickets which we used and enjoyed. The show was right down the street at the Resorts Casino. If you aren't interested in giving up time for a sales presentation, just say no. We took the $75 gift card and spent it at the outlets later on.

The facilities were great. Most activities are located on the 6th floor including the rooftop pool, game room, pool tables, movie theatre, etc. Yes, the elevators are slow because there are only two and the hotel is under renovation but since we were on a mini-vacation there was really no rush to go anywhere!

Atlantic City is an interesting area. I have been there a few times over the last 20 years and it seems that more than ever they are trying to revitalize the area. Whether or not they will succeed will show over time, but if you are looking for a place to stay in A/C - check out the Wyndham. You won't be disappointed.

Room tip: Ask for a room on a high floor.

Just left Wyndham skyline tower in AC. We stayed on the 39th floor in a brand-new renovated room. Apparently the person before us must've smoked in the room or on the balcony (by the way there are no chairs on the balcony) because the bedroom reeked of smoke but you could tell it wasn't permanent just within the air quality. this is and has always been a smoke free hotel. Wyndham was very quick to offer us either another room or try a Ozone machine while we were out. I'm very pleased to say that the ozone machine work great as we really didn't feel like moving. The bed was incredibly comfortable. We didn't want to get out. Room was fully stocked with all the great Wyndham amenities and toiletries. We had a great view of the ocean and the lighthouse Ect. Again chairs would've been nice on the balcony. We stayed in a one bedroom and it had the jet tub. The pool was warm and hot tub was a perfect temperature and we loved that the night staff let us stay past closing time as we were having a nice time with other Wyndham owners.
Brenda who gave us our bracelets at check in was a sweetheart. Yes, it was her job to try to book us for a owners update. We had never been to one and we read quite a bit of awful reviews on them and then some pleasant ones. We decided since we had nothing to do the next morning why not. she said they give us 75 bucks on a gift card. then she threw in some show tickets that night. We also didn't pay for parking which was great. The show we saw was great and we really enjoyed it. So 10:15 the next morning we headed down. Since we had no idea what to do the next morning (meaning we were supposed to check in but instead we just went in the theater and sat down with the rest) we did make everyone have to wait for the presentation even though we were already sitting there waiting ourselves. We didn't realize we had to go somewhere to check in and we thought we just go right to the viewing room. Needless to say we did tack on an extra 30 minutes between them waiting for us (even though we were there) and then, them having to find us a rep after the video. Jen--who did the video was awesome. She's very complementary towards the few of us that were sitting in the room (all owners) and really took that extra effort to get to know us but she was also short sweet which was great. Dana was our sales rep and she was such a sweetheart. She was not pushy at all and we learned quite a bit of things that we weren't aware of regarding club Wyndham Access. Dave popped over show to some figures that we politely declined and he was very gracious and not pushy at all. After we Politely declined the upgrade there was no pressure to stay and we were out of there with her $75 gift card. Process took about two hours but probably would've only been 90 minutes if they weren't looking for us ha ha and probably would've been 60 if I didn't spend some time chatting girl to girl With Dana lol. I would highly recommend doing the update if you have nothing better to do and you don't have your kids with you. (Unless you have an older kid to watch the younger ones) they extended our hotel stay for the afternoon until 2 o'clock which was nice but we didn't need to stay that long as I had other priorities to tend to.

My only real complaint is Brenda told us that we would get to see Preview of the new my club Wyndham reservation system. We never saw that preview and Dana had never seen it either. Lol. But lucky for us we already previewed it ourselves on the website.

We will definitely make a point to go back to skyline again sometime in the future. I would say their staff is pretty top-notch. Looking forward to NewPort Rhode Island with Wyndham in march.

Note: if you are not interested in vacation ownership or do not wish to go presentation just say no and walk to the elevator. You will already have your bracelets so there's no reason for you to stick around if they want to try to persuade you.
