“I expected better... but shouldn't have”
Reviewed December 4, 2013

Since Tun Tavern is it's own restaurant I thought it might be better than Convention Center food. Unfortunately, it was not. The salad was weak with very little chicken and the crab fries were also cheap with very little crab.

It's possible that other entrees are better but I didn't go back to try any. For the cost and potential for disappointment, it just wasn't worth it.

“The best burgers and free parking at the outlets!!”
Reviewed November 25, 2013

Tun Tavern is located in the Sheraton hotel and has a parking lot across the street from The Walk, the outlets in Atlantic city. It is a sports bar and a great place for husbands to watch the game while you shop the outlets. Not only do they serve the best burgers and great salads, but they will validate your parking ticket for free parking for 4 hours. The best deal in town.

“Go somewhere else!”
Reviewed November 14, 2013

I've have been to many restaurants in many different price categories. And it is extremely rare now that I've found a restaurant that doesn't give you free refills of soda! The entree I ordered was so so, came with nothing and was WAY overpriced. The rolls could be used a IED's. I was sat across from a door to the street that opened every few min; nevermind that there was hardly anybody in there when I got there! I was in AC for a convention. I learned my lesson and will never eat there again!

“Micro Brewery Pub w/Historic Location.”
Reviewed November 13, 2013 via mobile

Touts home of first Marine Corp. however there is no trace of anything historical about modernized flashy micro brewery pub. Hard to say what food would be like because it is always slammed when we go during conventions. Food is "OK". Micro brewery is what makes pub unique and from what we sampled of their brews, beers were great.

“Mediocre...Nothing to rave about”
Reviewed November 12, 2013

The house beers are nothing to do backflips over. I tried 5 throughout the night. The seasonal which was called Apple Stout, tasted more like watered down Guiness with apple juice poured into it. The Devil Dog Pale Ale was a little to hoppy for my taste. There wasn't much balance to it when it came to the malts. The Irish Red was OK. The All American IPA had a typical IPA taste. Tun light was really the only one I enjoyed. I love trying various micro brews in my travels and am always looking for something new. I have to say the Tun Tavern's brew selection falls short. The beer prices are a steep $5 each.

Onto the food. I ate the Pub Burger. It was a typical 1/2lb hamburger, topped with bacon and cheese. Nothing more than you'd get from any old burger joint, just on a fancier bun with a $12 price tag. The Blue Claw Fries were just the same fries you get as a side with your burger. Just had cheddar cheese on it, very little crumbled crab meat and WAY TOO much Old Bay seasoning, carrying a hefty price tag of $12.

The overall pricing was way too steep for the quality. The 4 of us paid over $100 for an entree each. Nothing fancy, just chicken burgers and beef burgers; an order of blue claw fires split between the 4 of us and 4 beers. The quality was about equal to a Red Robin which will set you back about $50.
