Our room was in the older Ocean Tower, eight floor. It appears to have been updated recently. It was clean and comfortable. The new bathroom was clean, but as a "senior traveler", the shower is poorly designed. There should be hand rails to hold on to as you get in and out of the tub. Also, you cannot turn on the shower water until you are in the tub. DUMB! Otherwise, the service, luggage handling, and the view of the ocean were great!

Smoky, very smoky. Bathroom and room in need of some TLC - carpet was well past it's useful life and bathroom could use a remodel. Overall staff was very friendly and attentive but the actual facility is what you'd expect for $40 a nite: basic. See my view on attached images.

Room Tip: request an ocean view room.

Upon arrival at the casino - the first thing that hits you upon entering main lobby is the smoke - the hotel is a smoking/non-smoking hotel. However the smoking area is closest to the main lobby. After a complicated check-in, we were assigned a room on the second floor which overlooked the roof. We asked to be moved and were moved to a 36th floor room in the Ocean tower and it was more spacious although a little dated. The hotel could use a little updating.

Check in was easy & clerk was very friendly. King room was extra large with 2 full bathrooms & 2 walk-in closets. Bathrooms were small, no counter to put make-up,razors & such. A little inconvenient so you just have to deal. Room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. I was surprised to see there was no desk or table available for business use or just working on a laptop, that would have been an inconvenience if I had been there on business. All in all a very good stay. Casino is a little tight according to my husband but I won $$$ so I was happy. Skip the buffet it is not worth the money.

Was planning to stay the weekend with my hubby but after reading these reviews I am concerned. Should I just do harrahs as usual?? Dirty old rooms is scary and its my birthday weekend!! I would hate to ruin the vibe with an uncomfortable hotel stay... hmmm any advice??

I wouldn't have stayed here by choice and probably not again. Its an older casino and we were staying there because my daughter had a competition at the hotel. I read reviews of this section or that being older but frankly, all the rooms looked pretty old to me. Both Ocean and Rendezvous. My parents and some friends stayed in rooms in both Towers and we all confirmed, they are old. Doesn't look like the pictures on the website, that is for sure. The staff was neutral at best. Not your high end politeness. I wouldn't say they were rude, maybe just curt.

Our carpet had a big stain on it and the wall paper was peeling in some parts. And as you walk around parts of the lobby near the slot machines, you can definitely smell the smoke.

We had dinner at the buffet restaurant and the food was very bland. You can upgrade the dinner to add crab legs and that was probably the only tasty thing there. They had a surprisingly good Asian restaurant there called East Winds and a Starbucks-like coffee and pastry shop.
The only good thing was it is right outside the boardwalk and very close to the Steel Pier and a short distance to an entrance way to the beach. The Taj is right next door.

Next time, we'll stay at the Revel or Borgata and just travel to the competition. Its just an older casino and was not a fun time. I am sure there are better hotels along the boardwalk.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Have been going to Resorts for years but just in the last year started taking advantage of the free room offer. It gives us a chance to get away, take a break and leaves us money to play with in the casino! We had a great experience. We have stayed in the Ocean Tower (quaint) and the Rendezvous Tower (larger room) both were very clean and comfortable. Ate at Landshark (great mac n cheese seafood dish) and at Breadsticks (great food) and we will return as soon as we get another offer! Thanks to all involved with services!
