Forget Chef Volas - better setting - better atmosphere and most importantly the best meal we had all season. Started with Baked Clam app then followed it up with the Cafe salad that we split. For Entree I had the veal chop Milanese and it was wonderful. Mymwife had frutti de mar and it was exceptional. This is the best Italian in Atlantic City.

On our trip to Atlantic City, we had a disappointingly noisy dinner at a restaurant recommended by Wine Spectator as having a great wine list (this restaurant however is rated #99 out of 300+ restaurants by Trip Advisor). So we decided to try a highly ranked Trip Advisor restaurant and see if that was a better way to choose a restaurant in a city strange to us. So we went to Cafe 2825, ranked 3rd out of 300+ restaurants in Atlantic City by Trip Advisor. Great service, excellent food, nice wine list (but choose from the higher end - at the lower end the price/quality ratio wasn't the best) and, wonder of wonders, relatively quiet. We had the branzino - best one we ever had. We would definitely go again.

Though in town for over 25 years, Joe & Ginny's place feels like an undiscovered gem. It's in the shadow of the Trop and its multiple chain restaurants. But this is the real deal. Outstanding wine list and mixes drinks to start. (We loved the mixed berry martini). Great appetizers. Have a half portion of pasta to start. The mains are excellent. Fish is fresh. Pasta is made in the old country way. Cheesecake is the best way to end the meal. You must eat here. Worth the drive from Philly or Central NJ.

This is an awesome place, just a bit off the beaten path, but well worth the walk from the Trop or a drive from just about anywhere. Our group has sophisticated palates and has dined together all over the world. Cafe 2825 compares favorably with any Italian cuisine we've had anywhere, including the northern and southern parts of Italy. We had fried mozzarella and a mushroom pasta dish as appetizers. Outstanding entrees were Sunday Gravy, sea bass, halibut, veal parm and soft shell crabs. Pasta is cooked just right. Sauces are perfect. Save room for the homemade cheesecake. A great restaurant.
