We got a very good deal on one of those daily deals websites and thought we'd give it a try. Arrived on a Wednesday afternoon, the first week of January. Hotel was pretty much empty (judging from the parking garage). Everything was very clean and well-kept. Apparently the hotel was recently renovated.
We received a King room on the 21st floor with a nice city view. The room was very nice and modern, and clean! It just smelled like cleaning agents, which went away after some time. The bathroom is nice, but only has a sliding door, which doesn't really close shut. So this room (I don't know about other rooms) is not recommended if you want to stay in the same room with someone you're not intimate with :)

We received a free wine tasting with hors d'euvres with our deal. It seemed like the staff hadn't done this too often before but we were very well looked after - the wines were good too!

The casino, well.... it was a casino. Nuff said.

The location of the hotel is far away from the boardwalk, and all the other hotels, but apparently there is a shuttle service if you want to roam around downtown AC.

We tried the all you can eat buffet for dinner (hey, don't judge, after all it is a casino...), which was okay. Lots of choices, pretty good quality. Try the bread pudding for dessert! :)

We went to the new spa for massages this weekend. We have visited several of the spas in Atlantic City and this one is a really great find and a good value for your money. The facility is beautiful, clean and has all of the amenities and toiletries you need in the locker room unlike some of the more pricey spas in the other casinos. The relaxation room is comfortable and attractive. The massage was well done and the staff was friendly and attentive. They have great promos so check out their website or Facebook. You won't be sorry.

En route to friends we decided to stay overnight in Atlantic City to see what it was like.
The hotel was all that could be expected of a quality American hotel, the room was very good, the promised view excellent and the facilities that we used were very good. No faults with the staff, check-in or out, parking or room. The bathroom was exceptionally good quality and recently refurbed.

Perhaps because it was a Thursday night a week before Chiristmas, but the casino lacked people and atmosphere. I thought the tables that were being used were not mainstream styles which did not endear me to them. Even the fruit machines were overly complicated for me!

We ate in one of the restaurants which I thought was a little over-priced but it was excellent food.

Worth a visit but probably won't go back again. Nothing to do with the hotel which was great and I thoroughly recommend.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a bay view.

Went when we thought property would be relatively empty - and it basically was. That part worked.

Room: Felt fresh and clean with non-obnoxious decor and felt welcoming but not exactly restful. Main issue here is we ended up with a room that had a connecting door (that we did not ask for). LOTs of noise comes through those doors, so if privacy and quiet are important to you - ask for a different room (or maybe stay in a different city...) Besides being able to hear far more from the neighbors than I wanted to - there was also some random unidentifiable banging in the middle of the night. For the price we paid, it is hard to complain too much - but if I'd paid the $200 this room goes for on weekends, I would be angry.

AC: Had to remind myself that people (the general public, not the staff) can be super non-friendly here. People will simply ignore you, even if you speak directly to them. Just part of how things are here now (apparently). It did not used to be this way.

PRICEY: Room was very reasonable, but, buy anything on-property and you will pay very inflated prices. Exception to this was in the spa which had reasonably-priced seasonal specials.

Spa: Nice, restful atmosphere with attention to detail. Therapist was excellent. Sadly, no hot water to be had in the shower - which is not good when you want to get the organic oil out of your hair.

H20 (6th floor) - nearly deserted (granted, it's December, and not everyone is adventurous)... Hot tub was hot, but not bubbling (not could you make it be bubbly, as control box was locked). Still, it was nice to be able to use this amenity - though wish there was an indoor option aside from the spa. But it is a smaller property, and I guess you can only offer what you have room for. Photos of this area must be from summer time. Don't look for cabanas in colder weather.

Brasserie - Just OK... But was open 24/7 which is helpful for early risers.

Overall - not sorry to have gone there, but nothing I would need to do again either.

Room Tip: If your idea of a good room is a quiet room, this may not be possible. I would ask for non-adjoining...

Golden Nugget Hotel Atlantic City is outstanding after the take over from Trump Marina. Highly recommended to stay as room rates are very reasonable and service, very nice. Restaurants at the Golden Nugget, my family and I have tried the buffet which is OK, not too bad but the Lillies Chinese restaurant, terrible. Been there twice and both time very disappointed, not only with service but quality of food is no good and over priced. Definitely not recommended.

Room Tip: Ocean view.

Entire place just renovated. Looks great! Nicer and cleaner than most casinos. A world of change since being rebranded. Rooms are fantastic and outdoor pool/jacuzzi are great. Beautiful views of marina and bay.

Had the pleasure a couple of weeks ago, to have an event at Live (club at Golden Nugget). Our group was over 200 people and it was an amazing experience for everyone who attended. From the beginning, Tara the event coordinator, worked with me to make every single aspect of our party perfect. Then, Maryellen, worked with me on the food until we got 100% everything we wanted exactly as we wanted it. The food was amazing in presentation, quality and quantity! Usually, when I plan these events, I spend the night checking and re-checking the details and having to constantly make sure everything runs smoothly. This was the first time for us at the Golden Nugget and the very first time I got to just enjoy the party like everyone else. Not one problem or concern. To the event staff, food & beverage staff, wait staff and everyone in between, an enormous thank you for making this the best party we've ever had!

Room Tip: I was told every room had been re-furbished and they weren't kidding. It was like we were the f...
