This place, like the city has a lot of history. The grounds are very large and they are very well maintained. They have college students, who for a donation of your choice will give you a tour around the grounds. There are different rooms that host a small art collection. It was a great place. Worth the visit if you are interested in Simon Bolivar and Colombian history.

Whether you are interested in history or just want to enjoy beautiful gardens, La Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino is a must place to visit. We were provided with an English speaking guide which was a nice touch. The tour is well worth the time if you are visiting Santa Marta.

Go for the beautiful grounds, statues, and preserved furniture. There are some cool art features too. Watch out for mosquitoes.

This place should be great, an interactive interesting museum, it isn't. It is expensive at 12,000 pesos to enter. A guide is extra. I suspect no English speaking guides either.
It is not a place for kids, there are no activities, no play park, no visual explanations, nothing hands on, just a lot of bare rooms that you can look at from a doorway, you cant even enter!
The cafe is the bare minimum and there is no restaurant.

The 'botanical' gardens are ok, although not a lot is labelled well.

Overall, a bit of a disappointment really considering this is supposed to be one of Santa Marta's key attractions.
