“A place befitting El Libertador”
Reviewed August 28, 2012

La Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino, the hacienda where Simon Bolivar died, is a lovely place to spend part of a day, whether you are a history buff, a nature lover, or just want a quiet place to walk in peaceful surroundings. The Museum of Contemporary Art is located on the grounds as well, making it a well-rounded cultural experience.

“An interesting couple of hours”
Reviewed August 24, 2012

I enjoyed my visit here. I took a guide for an hour or so which made it so much more informative. This place is a bit of an oasis from the city noise and traffic but if you have no interest in the history it might not be for you. However even if you have only a superficial curiosity take the trouble to get yourself there, its not far and spend an hour or so preferably with one of their guides. I also saw some huge iguanas in the gardens!

“Lots of potential, quite interesting.”
Reviewed August 1, 2012

The gardens are big and could be simply amazing, but they aren't very well taken care of (litter scattered around, lawn not cut etc.). The trees are cool though and they have loads of big iguanas (perfectly safe, don't worry) running freely around the gardens. There is the resounding song of birds which is nice and there are many pretty species of birds and plants. I advise a visit, despite the few disappointments, and it is also right across the road from a big shopping centre, which is very handy.

“Museum”
Reviewed July 6, 2012

The museum was good. There are different items you can see like old pottery, beds, uniforms, etc. The gardens are beautiful. It is one of the plus of the place. The guide was very helpful, I guess students doing their community and service. They are usually friendly and full of recommendations for you to go and visit more places around the city.
