Wilmar and his family are very helpful and super friendly. You will feel at home. The eco cabanas are all made by himself- they are beautiful. You feel like you would be in the middle of the jungle. We even saw monkeys and all kinds of birds. It's just wonderful. The location is very good if you want to visit the parque tayrona- as it is only 5min away with the car. Even though, there are other activities to do, too. Wilmar the owner will drive you around and supply you with lots of information.

It's the perfect place to relax and enjoy life!

Yuluka- unos de los mejores lugares en Colombia!!! Wilmar y su familia son super queridos y amables. Tambien los cabanas son maravillosos- como en tus sueños!!! Un paraiso!

Gentle people who help in all belongs. Very good meals and very nice flats. The best one is the flat at the top with a great shower: you can take a shower while taking a sun bath.

The owner and all the familiy couln´t be more friendly . Really recommendable if you want to stay outside of St. Marta.

We had a good stay here before and after visiting the amazing Tayrona National park. The hostal has a super relaxed pool and a good cheap restaurant with friendly service. The hostal has different cabanas with tatched roof and all have private terrace with hammock. We paid a 100.000 cob in high high season, the price for outside the high season is a very reasonable 80.000 I think. Wilmer is there to explain where to go, he dropped us of at the entrance of the parque and we could catch a ride with him to Santa Marta the day after. Very friendly atmosphere!

I think the glowing reviews should have described another property and definitely not Yuluka:
- this place is located 20 feet (5 meters) from a busy road from Santa Marta to the Tayrona Park entrance with trucks, buses and all tourist traffic going by your head
- the village is a collection of overpriced restaurants with no apparent attractions
- the place they showed me at Yuluka was facing the road and there were absolutely no views of any kind
- a bunk bed in a six-bed dorm was offered at COP 80,000 per person per night, probably the most expensive dorm bed in Colombia; you can stay for much less in a better place in the same village
- contrary to the reviews below with affordable transportation options, Wilmar offered pick up from Santa Marta for COP 80,000; you can get a taxi for significantly less

We stumbled upon this place completely randomly as we were looking at different options to stay in or around Tayrona park. The staff are really helpful, in particular if you speak a bit of Spanish. Wilmar, the owner, will drive you around the area for 5,000 pesos and will get you good deals with the locals too, which means you don't get ripped off. It's a very nice family-run place, set in the middle of vegetation. THe huts are clean and nice, with hammocks outside. Compared with all the other very expensive options around the park it's really great value, especially if you're travelling on a tight budget. And it's very close to the park entrance. The park itself is fantastic, and a must-visit for anyone travelling around North Colombia.
