La Brisa Loca Hostel

We loved our stay here! It's in a great location, walking distance to markets and all amenities. The staff are all very helpful with booking tours, buses, laundry and making sure you have a great time. There is a bar which serves delicious brekky and lunch at very reasonable prices and has an excellent party scene. The rooms are clean. Ours had aircon that they turned on at around 10pm and then switched off sometime in the morning. The showers only have cold water which is fine as its always so hot anyway. Would definitely stay again!

We stayed here for 2 nights in the private room. The rooms are very basic but just Wat u need backpacking! We had an aircon, comfy beds, shower (only had cold water but refreshing) and very safe to lock ur things up.
They were really helpful at front desk with tours, advice, etc.
the food was really yummy and cheap to! Good place I meet other people, also didn't find it overly noisy after hours!! Would stay again!

Stayed here in October with a friend. Had a great time! Definitely a party hostel. Music blasting all night. If you want a good party and meet lots of ppl i'd stay here. Cool roof top to hang out in. If you want a quieter room try to get one on the first floor. We got a room with our own bathroom and air con our second stay. It was so much better. Its super hot so if you can afford it get one with air con.
The food at the bar is actually pretty good. The veg sandwich was yummy. Staff was super friendly as well. If your looking to party stay here!

I would of given this hostel a lower rating if it wasn't for the receptionist Ricky. He helped us with all our questions ane help organised transport, directions and recommendations. He went out of he way to help us plan our trip. He literally made the experience in the hostel and santa marta great for us.

Otherwise the hostel is in a beautiful house nice bar and roof terrace with funny signs everywhere. Although, the s place felt unclean and howers were not kept clean and the bunk beds were old and rocked if you moved. And we stayed in 4 different rooms.
The bar staff are really nice.

The hostel attracts people who like to get drunk/high ALL the time , so if your into this its perfect for you. Although we liked more of a balance whilst travelling.
Sant Marta has some great resturants and this hostel is central to all of it. The mex resturant is really good as well with big portions.

Cool hostal, easy staff. Good location. If you're looking to meet other backpackers, great spot. Funky building and decore. Not the best place for private rooms (even for the price not really worth it). Definitely don't like the signs they've put up throughout the hostal telling guests this or that notice.... I.e. like you are not allowed outside alcohol into the hostal.

Room Tip: Don't go for the private rooms here

TAKE WARNING, this is a party place.  After having read all the reviews, saying the same thing, I was still tempted by the pool, and thought it was a Monday and Tuesday night so we'd (my husband and I) would be in the clear.  Wrong.  I guess "Party" didn't register with me in the sense of loud loud loud music either.  I think I could have slept through the steady bass. It was the ringing of an even louder bell that was inconsistent, but rang often.  When someone tipped?  Or someone was feeling good?  I dunno, but they could loose the bell.  I did give La Brisa Loca four stars though.  Because it was clean, well organized, a great place to meet fellow travelers and there is much humor in art and signage throughout.  We can appreciate the concept, but if you are like us and you don't party, but think you are still hip, you should think twice!  We left after one night, but no regrets, I read the warnings.  This is a great place for young people wanting to mix, mingle and party.  I read somewhere the owners would like to create another place that appeals to an older crowd.  With a cafe/juice bar please?  A little more Shwanky with regular yoga classes?  Pool is a must.  We'd be all over that!
