Once you are there, you can enjoy the view "from the other side". I mean, seeing San Andres from the island, which is nice and diferent. The staff on the island is very friendly, and the food is good. Go for a walk around the island. It'll take you about 10 or 15 minutes.

It's a pretty lil island. You get shuttled out there and the second you foot hits the beach, reach for your wallet. There is a "park tax". Then you are shuffled to the lunch area and depending on what boat you are on, the people push you to the place they want you to eat. I'm guessing this is a relative or kickback related. $45usd for my wife and I to have a lunch plate we shared. Eat before you go or just walk to many beautiful beaches on the main island. Your better served going to La Pacinita or West View.

Simply is a paradise. Is a near island where you can see differents colors on the sea, amazing to snorkelling. The worst is full of people.

It's a small island, and inside there are a bunch of bars or little restaurants and also stores. The people were really nice. There was a drink named Coco Loco that my husband absolutely loved, he end up drinking like 3 of those.
At the island you could see the different colors of the water, and the white sand made it even better, it looks amazing.

So many people told me many times "You have to go to Johnny Cay!" so I told myself, no way I am going to miss this! Well it was not what I expected at all. The usual temp. and breeze around San Andres is great, sure its hot, like any other beach, but you always get this sea breeze that is just perfect making you forget how hot the day is. Now in Johnny Cay, that is another story. Just forgetting the fact that straight away you get charged for getting into the island and the boat ride to get charged for a spot on the beach and everything else related. All these charges are expected, but not the heat. Sure sure, the heat is the same that anywhere else on San Andres, but the thing is that the beach faces San Andres, that means the delicious sea breeze comes from behind and the island istelf blocks it. You nearly don't feel any breeze and the heat is quite unbearable, even in the shade is too hot. The rest, well the name tells the story, I have called it an island when is just a Cay, is tiny. So, from my point of view you will get better beaches with better sea breeze, at a lower cost anywhere else on San Andres
