A very nice place with an amazing and attentive staff. The cottages are very cute and romantic. They also have a good breakfast, and a lovely place where you can enjoy the sea. What can be improved? The wifi (that works only at common areas), Hot water and a better shower, but this won't keep me away from another visit. :)

Room Tip: Try to ask a room next to the sea.

The cabanas are very clean and nice, with an own little balcony with hammock. Breakfast is ok, the staff is very friendly and the hotel is very good located. But the best is the terrace on the other side of the road!! Perfect seaview, very romantic enjoying the sunset there during having a happy hour drink. You have to have dinner there at least once. The cook is amazing an she also love to cook for you. And you feel like having a privat dinner only organised for you.

The best, for us was the laid back atmosphere. The owners Juanita and Consuelo are great hosts that make you feel very welcomed, on top of that they give you the best tips to enjoy your time around the island.

Right in front of the hotel they have a bar called the Ocean View Terrace, they offer happy hour from 5 to 7 and a snacks menu with affordable prices made of local produce.

I recommend taking the tour around the island with them, the boat will pick you up right at their dock which beats walking in the morning! We paid 35.000 which for what we got it was a bargain.

Yes, there are some lizards in the vicinity and they are just brilliant to watch! It's Providencia! A wildlife haven. It seems unbelievable that some guests can comment on the noise of the wildlife on a remote Caribbean island - but there we are...To address some other criticisms: we found the Agua Dulce cabanas are clean, cool and spacious - and include some decent shelving wide enough to keep luggage stuff on - plus clean and comfortable large beds. Yes, the cabanas are pretty 'basic' but in a good way. The Wi-Fi worked fine when we were there but if it doesn't about 100 yards down the road you can sit in the bar-cum-restaurant and check your status and emails to your heart's content, if that's what has to be done. The cabana showers are cool - this is because hot water is hard to come by on the island (and for that matter in parts of Colombia). But as you brace your back, be smug! Cool water is the best cure for heatstroke, hangovers, and dry skin complaints! The pool was just fine, with some under-fives playing happily in it, with no sign of it being stagnant. Still, as a near-deserted beach, with shallow turquoise waters, is only a five-minute walk down the hill – one among many – the pool may not be a key factor. The Agua Dulce restaurant was being refurbished and is about to introduce an evening menu, with a newly-appointed chef, in the next few weeks, so that should be useful for future guests. There are also a couple of very nice restaurants within a few minutes walk – plus a supermarket. We had breakfast on the terrace overlooking one of the great seascapes on the island (and an evening drink at two-for-one happy hour, watching the sun go down - the night sky is breathtakingly sharp too). Juanita, who manages the family-run business, could not have been more helpful and friendly for the five memorable days we spent there.

Although the people we met here were kind, the cabanas they put our family in all had something seriously wrong with them. In one, the air conditioning unit was broken. In another, the sink was broken and the bathroom flooded. In another, there were mouse (or bat?) droppings on the beds! All the cabanas were generally dirty (dirt on the floor, dead insects in the curtains) and had barely a trickle of cold water coming from the showers. Conditions were so bad that we ended up leaving after the first night to stay at Cabanas El Encanto down the street, which were wonderfully clean and comfortable! Don't stay here unless you are able to check on the condition of your cabana before paying any money.

Good location and friendly helpful staff. the cabanas are clean and well presented. they are cabanas and not hotel rooms so they are quite basic, mine had a second level with another bed. the aircon was good but very noisy as were the lizzards. there is no internet available, there are only a couple of places on the island that seem to have it. breakfast was ok.my cabana had a chair and hammock outside on the veranda.

the swimming pool wasnt really usable, the water looked very stagnant but then there is a beach 5 mins away so it wasnt an issue.

a very nice place to chill out.

Room Tip: away from the road

I found the cabins at Cabanas Agua Dulce to be charming and spacious. The owner, Marta, is great and attentive. If you need to leave valuable, make sure you do so with her and the safe in the front.

But, compared to the rest of the accomodations nearby, I found this option to be very expensive.

All cabanas are pretty open air and the island can get noisy at night with the sounds of all the animals, so just be prepared :o)
