“Not your average boradwalk”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

As Asbury Park continues it's slow rebirth, the boardwalk is the place to be in town. It's nothing like S. Jersey boardwalks. No rides, arcades, cheap pizza, fudge etc. It's more upscale, with some fancy restaurants, nice stores, but still some empty spaces, and lots and lots of room for improvement. There's the Paramount Theater and the Stone Pony for rock shows, and you get an unusual mix of people because of the different draws. Curious what it will be like in 20 years.

“Getting a little better every year”
Reviewed September 24, 2012

The Asbury boardwalk is still far from what it was, but is has been making steady progress the last few years.
Every year the restaurants, bars and amusements get better with a larger selection.

“it`s back”
Reviewed September 23, 2012

i would go with my family when i was a kid back in the fifties, it was a magical place then it went into a tailspin. the boardwalk and beach were empty during the late 70`s and 80`s even during holidays, now it is reborn with nice restaurants and the theatre, no boardwalk rides yet

“Under the boardwalk”
Reviewed September 20, 2012

One can only imagine what this place was like in it's better days. Restaurants and gift shops line a boardwalk bookended by abandoned, architecturally interesting stone buildings that probably date back to WWII or prior. The beach was fairly clean but a ribbon of trash lined the beach at the foot of the boardwalk. I heard someone mention that the area was "coming back." I hope so as it's a pleasant place to spend a sunny afternoon.
