We ordered a room with jacuzzi but at our arrival this was strangely not available. Instead, we got a much smaller room with a SAD view (parking lot) and complementary cockroaches. The staff was ok and booking.com turned out to be responsible for the jacuzzi mix up, but still I would not recommend this place to anyone. Small pool, so so breakfast, location far from perfect and big cockroaches (!!). Hugely overpriced!!

This year I returned to Medellin and once again I stayed at La Casa Medellin. I was very pleased to see the same staff as last year who welcomed me with a warm greeting. It felt like my home away from home. Once again I rented the business suite with the jacuzzi and private office.

I studied botany when I was a student and found the garden fascinating since there are now thousands of exotic plants and flowers. There were many last year but now the outside area looks like a botanic garden. In fact, there is no need to go to the botanic garden in Medellin if you stay in this hotel because you will see the same thing!

The rooms were super clean like before, the internet is fast and the breakfast was hot and tasty. The price was the same as last year at 220.000 pesos for the business suite while the smaller rooms are 130.000 pesos. But, I highly recommend the business suite if you are a business traveler because of the private office with computer. Also the business suite is a very large room with one of the biggest bathrooms I have ever seen in a hotel (plus private jacuzzi). The hotel was once a private mansion and the business suite was the the master bedroom before the conversion. Makes me wonder who owned a house this big in the 1980s? (LOL)

About a 5 minute walk from the hotel is the newest large scale shopping center in Colombia called Centro Commercial Santa Fe with over 600 high-end stores. Here you can find anything you can imagine. There is also a 24 hour super market across the street from the shopping center with high quality foods.

I like small hotels because of the personal attention, LCM only has 10 suites but the quality is as good as any large hotel. It is also very quiet because it is on a side street. I will be returning to Medellin once again in February 2012 and plan to stay once again in LCM. I really cannot think of anything bad to say about my stay. It was perfect.

One thing a little off topic I should mention, is that Medellin is going through a very rainy period right now, so if you are traveling there bring warmer clothes than you would normally bring to Medellin. Also, there is a new Hard Rock Cafe about a 10 minute walk from the hotel across the street from the Oviedo shopping center. And finally, something I did not know last year, there is a Castle one block above the hotel that is now a museum. The Castle is on a side street so you will not see it unless you turn down the road above the hotel. It is a real full size Castle like you would see in Europe that some guy with too much money built many years ago. It is free to enter and also has beautiful gardens where you can spend the day.

The nice rooms (Most expensive, cheaper not shown on Website) are ok but it is everything else that makes this place overpriced. The breakfast was so so, fruit was good but the eggs and bread seemed a bit stale. The pool was dirty and the owner just did not seem like he was much of a "people person" but was not rude either.

The bath also takes about a hour to fill up!!! Plus if you like it really hot you are out of luck.

For the money stay a true luxury hotel and save yourself the hassle.

This is a great small hotel hotel located in one of the best areas of Poblado. I stayed here for 3 nights with two business associates. The hotel is walking distance from the main business hubs in Medellin. Breakfast was hot and fresh. I like the fact that the hotel is small because it is very quiet and the staff were very helpful to everyone. I rented the business suite which has DirectTV which I recommend. One of my friends rented the smaller suite that only has cable and it was a little snowy at times. Other than that I have little to criticize the hotel for. The prices are very compatible for a hotel in this area.

One thing to mention is the hotel does not permit children so this is not a place for a family vacation. Most of the guests were Colombian business people, and a few forgeiners who were also doing business in Medellin. For me this was a key factor since I liked how calm everything was.

The service is lousy.

The room too small.

The pool is not climatized.

The jacuzzi was not working.

Their "fantastic barbeque" was NOT there.

The breakfast is bad.

They offer 5 stars, and give 2.

Too expensive for what you get.
