Poblado is my new favorite town in Colombia for the foodie scene! What a nice surprise and change from the normal run-of-the-mill local Colombian joints. This place is a dessert-lover's paradise. You can get anything from croissants to sandwiches to cookies to brownies and more! After dinner I got a chocolate chip cookie to go and consumed it immediately.

The food was delicious and the service was attentive. The French music was lovely to listen to in the background, and the ambiance was really nice, welcoming and relaxing. The restaurant is quite large with seating both indoor and outdoor, and is quite private because of the way the seating is set up.

We ordered the ahi with mango sauce, and the Nile prepared salmon with cous cous, both excellent!

A local, neighbourhood spot in Medellin that attracts locals and visitors alike with its jaw-dropping bakery case filled daily by Beatriz (Luis, the owner’s Sister) and her incredible staff… I couldn’t help but sample nearly all of the tortas - from the resto’s #1 favourite Carrot Cake with it’s moist cake stuffed with walnuts, plump raisins and wedged with lick-your-lips creamy, cream cheese icing, to the mouthwatering Chocolate German Cake, with its iced chocolate layers balanced by its smooth caramel nutty filling, to my absolute favourite - the torta de manzanas (Apple Cake) that is Cambria’s own creation, with cake so moist and stuffed with delicately spiced apple slices and nuts and a light lemon glaze adding a tangy sweetness to each bite.

In the morning, the croissants and cinnamon rolls are busting at the seams - their bready goodness beckoning to each patron as they order their cappuccinos, espressos and Americanos. It’s nearly impossible not to add a breakfast pastry to your order and if it happens to be a Cinnamon Roll, please do yourself a favour and try the Rojos version - stuffed with fresh red berry puree and iced with that smooth, creamy cream cheese icing for the perfectly decadent pairing with your morning brew of choice.

By noon, locals are taking their lunch and newcomers to Medellin might be so lucky to stumble about Cambria at the corner of Cra. 43E and Calle 12 and be treated to the full Cambria menu - it’s unique salads (try the “Cambria” for a healthy, flavourful mix of greens, tomatoes, corn, raisins, pineapple, mozzarella, ham and moist chicken) and savoury soups (the well-simmered and savoury onion and roasted ruby red tomato and herb are not to be missed)! Sky-high, made-to-order sandwiches are a customer favourite and entrees of perfectly cooked fish, chicken and meatier fare are available - also made-to-order and inspired by healthy, Mediterranean cooking and sides of greens and whole grains.

From your morning pastry to your afternoon bite and perhaps dinner date later in the evening, Cambria is that home-away-from home that makes meals in Medellin that much more.

We stopped by here a few days ago, very good eating, plus tasty coffee. The service was good, Streetside tables make people watching pretty good. Very handy if you are at "the Patio" hostel just down the street.

Great food, eclectic menu, wonderful ambiance! Owned by a Colombia brother and sister, this cafe is worth a visit! Had breakfast of eggs baked with veggies and cheese - different and delicious! Wish I was going to be here long enough to try their lunch and dinner; menu was enticing!
