“Maybe not great for a gringo!”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 5, 2014 via mobile

We were in medellin for a couple of nights last month and were looking forward to some greek food. When we got here we were told the kitchen was very busy and we could take a seat but food would be an hour.. (the bar was closed due to martial law).. this was fair enough and we put our name down to come back and eat in an hour..so far so good.. however when we came back we were met by a different very rude member of staff who basically barked at us the kitchen was closed. When we explained we had reserved and would she mind getting her collegue she just reiterated the kitchen was closed and basically looked through us.. at ths same time it looked like people were still eatting.. overall i have no idea on the food although by review its good.. its not cheap for the area and if you are a gringo think twice as theres at least 1 member of staff who is likely predudiced against you ( or id prefer to think just very bad at her job!)..pity

“Friendly, fresh, delicious, new. Absolutely worth your support.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 20, 2014

While wandering around the fabled epicurean Elysium of El Poblado's Zona Rosa, we stumbled upon Zeta while checking out a place next door to it. We struck up a conversation with the chef, who invited us to peruse his menu as he explained that they had just recently opened for business and had not yet had time to publicize their presence.

We took a chance, seated ourselves at an outdoor table and proceeded to be delighted by everything that came our way. I was drawn to the many vegetarian options, a rarity in this country, while the spouse zeroed in on the tuna filet in tomato reduction with rice-spinach pilaf, which he devoured in short order, practically licking his plate. Together we shared some enticingly spiced roasted red peppers with house-made pita, and I ordered a spanakopita (unusually light yet bursting with flavor) and a succulent vegetarian moussaka.

To drink we ordered a bottle of a Mendoza malbec but were instead served a bonarda from the neighboring region of San Juan (Argentina), the only glitch in an otherwise flawless evening, and ultimately of little consequence as the agreeable young wine was in all ways pleasant (and economical).

Service was attentive, well informed and welcoming. Zeta is worthy of your support. Let's encourage independent venues of integrity such as this.
