From the moment we met our guide German, we knew we were in for a great tour. His English was impeccable and he quickly made everyone feel welcome with his great sense of humor. German brought everything we needed (spoons, napkins, baby wipes etc.) and had flashcards with a picture and the name of each fruit. He would thoroughly describe each fruit and it's health benefits and demonstrate the proper way to eat it. We also had some arepas and a delicious juice at the end. We were all pretty full by the end of the tour. The market itself was interesting with an endless variety of fruits, vegetables, meats and fish. There is a short break midway through the tour of you want to explore the market a little by yourself or you can stay with the guide. They send very detailed instructions for the meeting point and you can buy bottled water when you get there. I think this tour is appropriate for all ages.

We loved this tour! Interesting, fun, and delicious. We are a family of four with two kids ages 6 and 9 and we all had a great time. Our guide, Diana, was wonderful. The market was safe and we felt very comfortable, it wasn’t too crowded or busy. We walked around, tasted amazing and delicious food we had never seen before, chatted, took photos. Very reasonably priced given the length of the tour and all you taste (15 or so fruits, a traditional corn and cheese bread, and a large fruit juice or shake at the end). One of our favorite things from our trip to Medellín.
