Coming to Satay and expecting good Asian food you might be a little disappointed. The food is clearly nothing like Chinese, Thai, Indian or Japanese like the name tends to imply. It's a strange Colombian fusion that is clearly acceptable but falls short of international standards. Certainly nothing spicy on the menu, that is if they have what you order, as the only other people I know who went here also said they had run out of most items on the menu.

This is why i love tripadvisor. Finding this place on your own would be quite difficult but what a great discovery! Away from the noise of the lleras park, Satay offers a perfect combination of atmosphere with the most spectacular garden i've ever seen and delicious food made with carefully selected ingredients. Highly devoted service and excellent offer of wines. Very recomended.

We went here based in n01 rating on Trip advisor: what a deception! Extremely poor service (forgetting drinks, requests, impolite approach .. Etc). The food is not bad, but more rather pretentious, strange fusion combinations that do not match at all and, similar salad/veggie combinations on totally different plates.

Again: understand that soms might Enjoy, however price/quality wise you much better go to other places to spend 120cop for 2 pers.

Lesson learned: no1 on TP isn't always THE best. I could have known with just 13 reviews...;)

I was nicelly surprised by this hidden jewel; Satay offers nice, balanced Indonesian dishes plus innovative use of local fruits (uchuva, tomate de arbol, tamarind,...) to craft beautifully plated foods that while maintaining the original flavors are well adapted to the colombian taste; not too spicy, but fresh and well mixed. This is not your typical fusion food, this is really nicelly translated dishes, based in a good selection of fish (incl. tuna, salmon...), beef, pork, poultry plus rices, veggies.
I tried the chicken pistachio, braised breasts on a curry and pistachio sauce; also tasted the tamarind sirloin, superb !, delicious tamarind sauce and nicelly done sirloin accompanied by a rice with black sesame; the vietnamese rice; good sized bowl of veggies, panko encrusted chicken and pork nicelly finished with nuts, soy and sesame. The bacon wontons were delicious, I tasted them with the red curry sauce.
They have an extensive catalog of exotic cocktails that I'd love to try, though I didn't on my most recent visit but they show good knowledge of the basics plus good use of the exotic ingredients to create interesting ones.
Location is A+; a nice garden enclosed by high walls, with a peaceful athmosphere, good modern lounge/alt music. Service is out of the ordinary, nice, helpful servers, you can tell they were properly trained, not too pushy.
Prices were ok, exotic cocktails US$7-8, entrees: $6-$9, main: $12-$15 (Tuna Jeruk)
Remember to request the Naan with curried butter, a small piece but well worth the visit.
