The Italian owner was warm, welcoming and friendly when we entered.
The beef Carpaccio (carpaccio di manzo) was disappointing. Although the ingredients were great, the meat was tough, and thicker than normal. About half the pieces were very chewy, and had to eventually just be swallowed whole.
The linguine carbonara was fantastic…one of the best I’ve had.
But the seafood dish róbalo puttanesca was bad. The puttanesca was a good, rich recipe. But the róbalo (sea bass) was not a filet, as advertised, but rather pieces. Some were raw, some were OK, and some were globs of skin or fat of some kind. The worst fish we’ve had in Colombia (since 2010).
The worst part was that they overcharged us for the róbalo. I would have thought it was an honest mistake, except for the long string of really-outlandish excuses that the owner offered up before finally refunding the difference. It looked intentional to me.
It's a classy place... but I will not chance it again.
