“Engineering Marvel”
Reviewed July 6, 2014

I took this all the way from the train metro to Arvi park. That is about a 30 minute journey. But the views of the city make the time go by fast. Then when you are finally over the last hill, you can't see the city anymore and you feel like you are in another part of the country. I have been on these type of cable systems before, but usually it is short to get to the top of one hill. This thing just keeps on going up and up and up. They say the cars/carts on the cables travel an average of 10mph, but it felt like they were going faster than that. You can take a few quick looks at the poor neighborhoods as you go up, but if you are not paying attention to the entire city landscape, then you are missing out. One ironic thing I thought about was, why do the poorest of the poor have the absolute best views of the city? In USA, only the rich would have those kind of views.

“Great experience”

I'm torn on whether or not to recommend you go all the way to Parque Arvi. You have to pay more, and a big portion of that section is going over the park, which isn't quite as thrilling as the rest of the ride, but you do get to see the city from the highest point of the Metrocable. Santo Domingo may have been a worthwhile stop if Biblioteca Espana was open.

Pack a warm layer for the top portion of the ride.

“Beautiful way to spend a sunday”
Reviewed July 4, 2014 via mobile

This is probably the best and cheapest way to see and enjoy this gorgeous city. Take the metro to station connecting with the metrocable...go up...what a view!!! Then visit the park up in the mountain and enjoy yourself with all the local food delicacies offered by the numerous vendors. Get some souvenirs...and get back either by the cable or by the small buses descending via Santa Elena... Total cost...a few dollars!!

“Beautiful views”

The metro cable is awesome for the people in the poor areas it passes. And the views you can enjoy as a tourist is definitely worth the ride even though it is a bit pricey if you go all the way!

The Metrocable takes you up the hills of Medellin and traverses some of the poorest areas of the city from a safe vantage point.
