My husband and I did not know where to go for dinner and started wandering around the Hotel Diez where we are staying. We hiked up a long hill and found a seafood restaurant with no cars in the lot and no one seated. It was about 745 in the evening which we thought was about the right time for dinner and were surprised there was no one there. The wait staff (Edwin) was very attentive and patient with my lack of Colombian Spanish knowledge. There are no English translations on the menu so it was a best guest as to what we were ordered.
As luck would have it, we ordered well. The meal began with a plate of fried plantains and a sour cream dip. The chips were not greasy and very light and the sauce complemented them very well.
A light salad came next with an extraordinary dressing made with an orange colored fruit with orange seeds inside. Edwin brought me one of these fruits so I could see it and taste it. What a considerate gesture on his part!
Our dinner included beautifully prepared seafood in generous portions. The rice was made with coconut and perhaps sweetened (not sure) and made a lovely accompaniment to the seafood. My husband ended up with Robalo with thin sliced peppers and I had the tuna with an excellent herb sauce.
I highly recommend this restaurant not only for the food but for the excellent service and delightful outdoor seating.
