This is a fantastic hotel, which is the best deal we had for maybe 30 years. The rooms are great with desks. Inside a kind of large sitting room / dining area, it is very nice with an outdoor feeling as there are large openings. It has a large good, well equipped kitchen to cook meals and a self service drinks fridge. There is a computer if you need it. Staff is very friendly and the husband from Nederlands speaks perfect English and his wife a bit English, they run the place. They helped with a map and ideas fro trips. It is a little bit outside city centre area but within walking distance. We walked after dark every evening for 6 days and had never trouble. It is close to a metro station, in an authentic Colombian area. We enjoyed this place so much.

This hotel is nicely operated. It has a very relaxed feel with a nice accomodating staff and guests to match. For the money I would say that it is hard to beat. The Prado area is definitely not the best area, but during the day I found it to be completely unalarming. At night I would greatly recommend that you take a taxi to and from the hotel as things feel much differently once it gets dark. Taxis are very cheap and in my experience very honest.
There is a community type kitchen where you can cook if you want or stick something in the refrigerator. They have a refrigerator cooler in the front office area that is stocked with cokes, water, beer, etc...and you just remove what you want and sign out what you have taken on a sheet with your name and room number. Breakfast is very nice and mine cost 6000 pesos (about $3.25) for scrambled eggs with tomato, toast, juice, coffee and fresh fruit. A bargain that is served from approx. 7:30 to 11:00 each morning.
The Metro station is about a 3 or 4 minute walk from the hotel and it costs about 90 cents to get you anywhere around the city and it is very clean and well operated.
Overall a good value hotel with clean rooms and nice staff. Just be sure to take taxis once it gets dark.

Thoroughly enjoyed my 3 night stay here. Comfortable private room, spacious and stylish common areas. Wonderful, friendly staff. Kitchen for guest use. Wifi and computer also. Rooftop patio. Good value.

Breakfast was an additional 6000 COP and delicious.

The only surprise was the area it is located in, which I expected to be more gentrified than it was. The hotel is located in the Prado area of the city and about a five minute walk to the metro station of the same name. Prado is an interesting neighbourhood with large homes the rich once lived in before they left the city centre. The hotel being one of those buildings. Outside key buildings in the area by day there are a lot of private security guards (many with shotguns) and some police and this tranquilizes the streets to some extent. After dark they leave and the neighbourhood returns to its natural state which seemed a little sketchy, and not somewhere to wander around after dark. But taxis are plentiful and inexpensive in Medellin.

I much preferred my stay here to a previous stay in the safer, ritzier El Poblado area of the city.
Note the hotel has no signage, so make sure you have the address with you when you first arrive.

This guesthouse is in a house that has been rehabbed from top to bottom. The lobby and common areas are fresh, modern, and hip with exposed brick walls, soft music and candlelight. It feels more like a quiet lounge rather than a hotel. My room was large with a huge bed and flatscreen TV. Way more than expected. The bathrooms are modern and clean. And the breakfasts are great and cheap, plus there's a modern shared kitchen.

The hostal is very clean. The rooms are very big, the bed is very big. The staff are very kind. The bathroom is new but not very good water pressure. The street the hotel is located in is not so bad but it is in the heart of center which is very crowded, dirty and polluted.
