“A truly unique experience and excellent food”
Reviewed December 25, 2013

The restaurant intersperses "moments" with the food courses (e.g. a scent moment with liquid nitrogen poured over an orange aroma so you experience the scent of orange). It was an amazing experience and the food was exceptional. Book in advance!

“A different , unique experience rather than a meal”
Reviewed December 8, 2013

Inspired by modern trends and cooks ( El Buli, molecular cuisine..) El Cielo propose different moments to touch all your senses .
Some food you will touch with your hands but not eat , some food you will only smell , some food will crack into your ears , and there is still enough other moments for your stomach to be satisfied .
Is this the best food you can have ? maybe not , but I bet you will remember that meal for a long time .
By the way the presentation on the plates is a real art work and helps to foster your appetite.
My small reservation: personally I don' t think much of the wine " Eternelle Favorite" we were served , I felt there was more snobbism than taste in my glass . The shape of the bottle inspired by perfumes bottle shape , should alert anybody about the content. Definitively not my cup of tea.
Reservation mandatory .

“A Spontaneous Find!”
Reviewed November 24, 2013

Thanks to my hotel, I found this restaurant, with a branch in Bogota in Zona G, has been designated the #47 top restaurant in South America.

This is a fine dining restaurant with several tasting menu options. I went for lunch and opted for the three course lunch menu. In addition to the three courses they add some 2 sensory courses, one to the touch where they pour a liquid of rose water and almonds that become hard as you roll it into a ball then turns liquid again. There was also an orange essence that when liquid nitrogen is added becomes like a cloud and wafted over the table

The mango, coconut soup with lemongrass was excellent and rich. There was a nice piece of yuca bread with a touch of cheese served on a piece of stone. The salmon entree with creamy rice, mushrooms in a soy sauce, a touch of avocado sauce and a few cubes of tomato jelly had very complex flavors and was very good.

The dessert course was a spicy ice cream, with almond crumble, pieces of guava with guava sauce. The flavors together were great.

Waiters did their best but they could not improve food ofc.
