“Great Atmosphere, Good food”
Reviewed January 8, 2013

Live music, delicious Cuban cuisine & impeccable service. You need a reservation, but get one & enjoy a great evening in one of Cartagena's classiest restaurants.

“Amazing food”
Reviewed December 31, 2012

Fantastic food. Atmosphere was also very good, as well as overall service. My wife and I loved it. Important to make reservations well in advanced - we could only booked for lunch.

“A bit overhyped, but good food”
Reviewed December 28, 2012

We asked our hotel to make a reservation for us and were told that it was impossible in December. We were told the same when we walked by in the afternoon by the guard in front. However, we managed to walk in and snag a table without any trouble. The food is modern Cuban/Caribbean. While some of the dishes were quite good, our overall visit was disappointing due to the following:

- shrimp and avocado ceviche: this dish is literally dressed with ketchup, served with a side dish of limes, which you squeeze over the shrimp yourself and mix. For US$20 a plate, we expected more than small shrimp dressed in ketchup.

- Ropa vieja: the classic Cuban dish, yet they were "out" during our visit.

- Jerk Chicken: the chicken was tender and flavored well, but our coconut rice had a curly hair in it.

The pros:
Service is very attentive and friendly, and this is obviously the place to see and be seen in Cartagena. As for food, the zarzuela de mariscos, a seafood soup made with coconut milk and saffron, was really delicious.

“Best Meal in El Centro”
Reviewed December 28, 2012

This little gem sits on the far side of the old walled city, near Café del Mar—totally walkable from just about anywhere. You won't get in without reservations, and may want to ask for a cozy table in the back, unless you're wanting to rock with the band. The menu is pricey, but worth every penny. We sampled a bunch of delightful starters, and then moved onto meat and fish entrees that rivaled anything we experienced in Cartagena, hands down. Home made desserts and coffees top it all off, in the best way. Go hungry. Killer place to bring a date. Enjoy!

“Excellent food and ambience”
Reviewed December 22, 2012

This is an excellent restaurant located in Old City. We were 5 of us and did not have a reservation. The place looked rather empty but the the doorman insisted that it was impossible to get in without reservations. We talked to the manager and he got us a table. Of note, many tables remained empty, so we could not figure out what the issue was. Just be persistent and you will have an excellent meal. Fish and seafood were amazing. They have an extensive wine and cocktails list. The decor is very nice and they have live music.
