It s a beautiful colonial palace but the display is fearly common and do not really show accurately how did the place looked at that time.

When in Cartagena one must visit Palacio de la Inquisicion a very well maintained and operated Museum with guided or un guided tours. English and Spanish literature available. I throughly enjoyed this attraction in the Old Town.

Nothing at all reflecting the horrors of what the Spanish did to " Heretics" and nonbelievers other than a few obscene torture devices.

Want to know about Cartagena's wicked past of Inquisition, then this is the place to visit. You will see the implements of torture used for over 200 years. Learn about pirates and review the questions to determine if you are a witch. The only down side to this palace is the lack of air conditioning in all the rooms. Be sure to pay the extra for a tour guide so they can give you insight on why it was in your favor to be Catholic in the era of the inquisition.

Very disappointing trip to Cartagena and to the Palacio de Inquisicoes. The city itself is kind of cute, but there are practically no attractions, no shops, no museums - apart from this place that calls itself a museum, but has nothing more than a few pictures and maps with explanations. So, you can spend your time reading inside the 'museum'. On the ground floor - it is a true - there is a pitiful collection of some torture instruments.
