Located on a great square - busy by night quiet by day, this is a delightful and very comfortable place to stay. Safe to return to late at night/early morning. Lovely helpful manager and staff, v comfortable rooms, cooled by fans and aircon if required. Good breakfast included - and complimentary happy hour when you can chat to other guests. Little plunge pool with few chairs to cool off. Would have liked little more area in which to relax after hot day walking the wonderful town streets, and before going out late evening. Freddie manager spoke great English and it was a pleasure to talk to him. Cartagena is a find - we enjoyed both the hectic, exciting South American tastes and sounds, as well as the wonderful classical music concert in the amazing old theatre - the festival is a must for any classical lovers. Do take a trip outside the city to an Island', bookable at the Hotel or at the port, which will give you a day at the beach by the sea. Though at peak times - we were there for New Year - it is very very popular outing with families making most of the holiday time. Other good beach areas are probably about 40 mins away by road. We ate wonderful food including the local ceviche, but also Peruvian, Argentinian and excellent Italian cuisine . Something for everyone. Don't forget the street food sellers also, the fruit is a must. If you speak Spanish its a winner. Enjoy the experience .

Cartagena Colombia is a great city to visit, explore and enjoy! We stayed at Casa La Fe, which located near one of the several squares, near lots of authentic restarants, supermarkets and gift shops. Casa La Fe is a very safe and frendly hotel where freshly coocked breakfast and fresh sqeezed juices were surved everyday (included in a price), coffee (espresso) was available all day in a patio (lobby). We are deffinatly coming back and planning and stay at the Casa La Fe.

This hotel is fantastic - on a lovely Cartagena square (that even figures in the Love in the Time of Cholera novel); great, authentic breakfast included in the price; and wonderful staff who help with restaurant recommendations & are happy to chat over a complimentary beer or a glass of wine during happy hour. We were in a room that overlooked the square and had zero problems with noise. It's easy to get everywhere of note in the city from the hotel & our room was comfortable & well decorated. Highly recommended.

If you like staying in the old part of town and like soaking the atmosphere in this is a great place. We were able to walk every where in the old town from here. If you like the Miami beach experience the HIlton would be a better choice. Casa La Fe has 14 rooms. We had a room facing the Fernando De Madrid Plaza. The balcony gives you a spot to hang out and watch the street life and rest when you need it. There is a small "dip" pool on the roof to cool off at the end of the day. Breakfast was served in the court yard and was ample for a good start of the day. I wish there was more fruit at breakfast but fruit is served on every corner. Don't be shy about some street food. We took advantage of the hotel harbor tour. The hotel has a small launch for six tourists. We were the only ones taking the tour that day. A hotel employee, Hijad, I hope I spelled his name correctly, gave the tour. The tour is supplemented by an audioguide but Hijad was an excellent guide. The tour extends out to an island at the edge of the harbor where we had lunch. You can also go for a swim. Lunch was fresh fish, coconut flavored rice and fried plantains, a Colombian favorite. One days notice is required to take the tour.
Freddie, the man in the know, at the front desk spoke excellent English. It was his suggestion to take the tour and I would suggest you take advantage of it too.
There are great restaurants in the neighborhood. You can poke in at the Sofitel hotel and see the high end of things if you want.
A few words about the Colombian reservation system in general. It isn't like Holiday Inn. Be attentive to when refundable and non refundable rates are quoted. Call or email and check before hand to avoid confusion.
LASTLY, if you take a picture of the Caribbean women with the bright dresses with the fruit baskets and knives on their head be prepared to give them a tip. No more need to be said about that.
We had a great time and I encourage you to go there.

Room Tip: We had room 206 with a balcony. Things quiet down at night so there is no problem with noise. The...

We have a simple rate structure. A 1n deposit is taken against a Regular Rate booking, refundable to within 48 hrs of arrival date. Advance payment in full is taken against any discounted booking and this is non-refundable. Our policies contain no small print that could confuse or trip anybody up.

Perfectly located in the old city, a few minutes walk to everything. Complimentary breakfast and happy hour drink. Roof area has the pool and a few lounge chairs, both the pool and the sitting area are pretty small. We stayed on the 2nd floor overlooking the street, if you plan on being in the room during the day it could get noisy. At night and in the morning it was fine though. I'd recommend this place.

Casa La Fe is a very cute boutique hotel in the heart of the "Old City" of Cartagena. The rooms are cute, clean and the staff is very helpful. Breakfast was included in our rate and we were surprised that we could order from a selection of choices versus the standard buffet of cold cuts, cheeses and croisants. We particularly enjoyed the nightly happy hour wine tasting with the other guests from the hotel, the owner and some of the staff. It was a very good way to get to know the other hotel guests. We appreciated the willingness of the staff to help us make dinner reservations, tour arrangements and walking suggestions around the "Old City". All in all we were very happy with our stay at Casa La Fe.

Casa la fe its perfectly located in the middle of everything in Cartagena. The staff is very nice except for the manager who doesnt take criticism very well.

I will recommend to stay but make sure not to stay on the first floor. It is loud and humid.

The brunch is fresh, clean and tasty.

Room Tip: second floor only

We believe this report stems from a client who wanted the front doors of the hotel permanently closed at all times because the noise of the horses' hooves in the street was disturbing. I guess everyone has their own threshold for noise intrusion.
