“a shaded rest spot”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 23, 2014

yes, cartagena is hot and humid. after walking around old town and soaking up all the sights, find your way to this excellent little plaza for a seat on a bench in the shade while sipping on a fruit juice bought from one of the nearby vendors. good people watching spot as well.

“Good spot with kids”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 11, 2014

Cartagena is not super kid-friendly but this is a nice square to hang out, eat an ice cream, feed the pigeons, visit the torture museum (!), and if you are lucky, make giant bubbles with the sweet, gentle guy from Barcelona.

“Nice Plaza”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 1, 2014

Plaza Bolivar was nice to walk through. Pretty greenery, benches to sit on and hang out. It gets quite crowded, so grab a seat early. We strolled through here a few times. Lot's of vendors selling candy, soda, cigarettes, etc.

“Plaza Bolivar - Just Sit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 24, 2014

A fantastic place to sit and watch the world go by. My favourite plaza in the world. I have spent many an hour on this plaza watching the world go by. if you truly want to soak up the ambiance and meaning of Cartagena spend an hour on this plaza at least and I promise you, you will not be disappointed - but put your mobile away and just take things in without the distractions of the modern world.

“Good place to people watch and buy trinkets during the day / early evening”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 13, 2014

This shaded small park in the Old City is pleasant during the day and early evening when there are still a lot of vendors and trinket sellers around. However, I would NOT hang around here later at night, I have been repeatedly warned that parts of it are poorly lit and not always safe, especially for tourists.
